We did not create ourselves but were created. This life is a test for the life hereafter. The Soul only taste death and lives eternely. So do good in this world so that the creator will give us a better hereafter.

If there is no better life after death then why follow good morals. We can all become thieves and rapists etc!
there is a purpose in life.Read the Quran the speech of the Creator.

I have... The Koran (i.e. speach of the creator) is in the same condition as the christian bible...

It has been overlayed by hucksters, charlatans, and self serving Imams and self proclaimed Mullahs... One must (as with the Bible and the Torah) be carefull which parts of it one takes to heart...

The 'bible' in the root of its present form was changed by a Roman Emperor and a council of self proclaimed 'holy' men.

The Koran in the root of its present form was changed after the 'poisioning' of the selected sucessor and by a council of self proclaimed 'holy' men.

noway I'm truly shocked! Nobody has turned this into a meaningless debate about God's existence! It's a miracle!

..i suppose it would greatly depend on what one believes to be true that will effect their answer..of course no one really knows ..so what's the point..it's all just speculation..smokin

..so is there a God.. (couldn't resist)

When you die do you die?

If you are not living life are you dead?

If you are living life death is not important.

life is.

enjoy it.

mortal life matters only in the blink of an eye that we are 'mortals'

in the absence of MERE mortality, eternity matters more

I think I will enjoy my mortal life and make it important as a precursor to my eternity

When you die do you die?

No.....shedding this mortal suit is all.

If you are not living life are you dead?

define 'living life'....and perhaps I can answer for you....as my parameters of living life, may be different from yours.

If you are living life death is not important.

Absolutely!...some people get through life with their entire focus on the carrot on the end of the stick...others ignore the carrot and enjoy the journey...me personally....I refute the stick let alone the carrot...I have the here and now...and I will have the here and now when I get there, also.

life is.

enjoy it.

Hi Redykeulous!

I always love to read your posts.

I have to ask – how do you know we don’t pay to have this life? If we are what Chocolina believes we are, then how can either of you know that in some other plane in which our ‘personality/soul’ exists we haven’t paid some fee to have this life -- kind of like an extended carnival ride.

LOL yep that's entirely possible.laugh

Come and experience the thrill of life and death on the earth ride! You will emerge a changed entity! It's the fantasy island you have been looking for! A game like none other you have seen! Step right up and get your tickets here!

Either way – if the physical form ceases to exist then much of who and what we think we are, including much of our personality, would die with the physical form because who we are, how we act, and even how and what we think are directly related to our physical experiences in this body.

This would depend on how you define yourself and on your own self realization. What are you... really? If you think you are your body or you personality, then yes, you are correct.

Take away the body that our personality developed in and we have no frame of reference regarding this one existence. The fact that we don’t remember being any other person (with some other personality that formed in another form or forms) seems to indicate that we are newly developed and will cease to exist when the body ceases to exist.

I suspect we chose to not remember who we really are... or were... in some other life. Just as you do not remember every detail of your current life, neither do you remember your past lives. It is just not necessary to have a photo-graphic perfect recall or memory. Perhaps our brains are not suited for that, it would be too distracting.

I admit that my logic is based on nothing – literally. In other words, there are no scientific theories that extend beyond the death of our physical form – therefore, I think the body ceases to exist.

I agree, the body ceases to exist... or rather it rots in your coffin or is eaten by worms.

Others prefer to believe that our intellect makes us so much more important within the universe that we must continue to exist beyond the physical. Some believe it would be meaningless for such a wondrous creature as humans to live like any other life form and then cease to exist in the same manner.

Perhaps we are simply components in a giant universal computer collecting information. When we die, the information is collected and assimilated and we cease to exist as a component. (individual) I hope not. I hope I will be able to sustain my awareness after I pass out of my physical body permanently. Perhaps I will go and find another game to play then.

I, on the other hand, do not see humans as that wondrous of a creature. Nothing in all the data we have amassed in the time that we have existed as human on this planet – suggests to me, that we proceed in our everyday lives in any manner that is better than any other animal that has ever populated this Earth.

I disagree. I think the human form and human consciousness is the greatest evolutionary life form achievement in the universe. We are superior to the cold unfeeling reptilian creatures that came before us because of our warmth and our capacity for love, compassion and sentient self realization.

So I would suggest that if anyone wants to believe that humans have some eternal quality, that they might consider that we pay some over-rated fee to gain entry into this carnival ride and perhaps the fail safe to exit the ride prior to its completion - is suicide.

So what do you all think about that?

I suspect the price we pay for this ride is that for each life we live, we must forfeit our memory and our connection to our memories and to our other selves and our higher nature.

How does this feel? It is like when you sleep and you are dreaming. Your dream self does not think about where it came from or who its real self is. It just walks around in some self created dream landscape and reacts to things.

How do we know this is not a Death like state dream?

And we are waiting for life?

How do we know this is not a Death like state dream?

And we are waiting for life?

Because we breathe. We are alive. Don't delude yourself.

Soot. I have woken up from dreams before and look around and say to myself is this real.

have to feel my arms and such to realize it wasw just a dream.

But seems so real. Dreams we ware told are short.. Maybe some dreams are much longer

I've actually done the same thing. This seems to be the last dream.
Maybe our life is a dream. Maybe that's what life is.

Its better than a dreamless sleep. That would be death.

I just recently lost my husband (that I met through Mingle). He fought a very tough and aggressive cancer. $14,000 a pop for a chemo was the only thing left the Dr. said, and yet it was probably not going to cure his cancer, only give him a few more months. Insurance wouldn't pay for this drug. So even if we did have the money....it would not have "bought" him life....only a month or two of being even more sick with the reaction and side effects that the chemo gave him.

Money is not everything.

I know he's in heaven now. He reached for the sky when his sister asked him on the phone if he had seen the angels coming for him. He was non responsive verbally, yet he raised his arms and was ready....w/in a short pr. of time he took his last breath.

toreybelle, great point. He is in a better place.

Death is absolutely NOT the end of all things. We are merely relocating, and shedding our imperfections (sin) for perfection (God's glory) so that we can spend eternity with Him.

Anyone who tells who that death is the end of things has not really examined who they are. If you are insulted by this, you should not be. You are unique. That means the gifts you have are yours, and yours alone until you share them with others. There has never been anyone like you before and there never will be anyone like you after.

Your time is now! Live!
