CLEARLy not alot of people seem to have experienced the potential of a 'Best friend'. i Definitely tell them most things.. its just i cant be arsed telling them Everything... but then again i am quite open.. maybe im just a contradiction... LoL

My very best friend of over 20 years knows things about me that no other human soul will EVER know. She is and has been a confidant and advisor, a shoulder to lean on and a person to laugh with. She is not a lover of mine...actually we tell it like it is when it comes to whomever the other one is seeing....we are very protectve and supportive of one another.

Yes, we have b!tched and fought, cried, pouted....the works.

It is a wonderful thing when a lover is your friend but, not every friend is meant to be your lover.

Hmm... I dont share secrets with anyone on this world..! Not even my own parents although i love them most..! But my sis saved me many times in my childhood from my parents scolding n she knows very little secrets about me...lol

well., I never share secrets coz i trust no one., Actually sometimes the sitution becomes worse n your best frnd / löved ones are forced to reveal ur secrets... The best thing is to keep ur secrets with you..!!

Not if ya know how to pick 'em! Have had most of my friends for at least one decade with some pushing 2 & have had my share of pretenders, but the real friends help weed those out for ya :)

@firefly- you dont get it..! Your best friend can reveal your secrets..! It depends on situation she is facing... Maybe u have an argument with ur frnd n you both get mad and the other day she reveals ur top secret..!! Or she is forced by someone else to reveal ur secret..!! Anything can happen at anytime.., Its a human nature that we change our mind anytime, so i am saying you should be aware..!

Well it needs tough mentality to keep the 'secret' secret. And if you are spritual enough you may reveal it to the almihgty God.

I share EVERYTHING with my bestfriend...he's known me since I was 13,and we became like white on rice..strickly platonic, although we even discussed having sex but decided it would infringe on our friendship...which we value to the core...
He holds nothing back which I admire, he'll let me know when I'm being a real jerk..:) oh and I in turn...

Note: I should mention that we didn't start talking about sex until we were much much older, just thought I'd mention that...:)

Well, honestly I don't have any secrets so bad that I really give a chit if anyone else knows about them because I really don't care if people judge me! The ones that do don't have any place judging anyone else-no one is perfect. Also, when your friends are honest, caring, understanding, and communicate maturely you don't get into petty arguments that lead to all the he said, she said, I told all your secrets stuff. Like I said, my closest friends have been around for ~20 years & considering I am in my early 30s, I'd say that's a good indication of the quality of people I choose to keep in my life!

I think that the only secrets I have from my best two friends are the ones they couldn't or wouldn't hear. That are to hard to hear.

On the other hand I have some I try to keep from myself, when they creep on blackened slithery shreds into my sleepy brain I get up in order to keep them at bay. If they make to much of an advance before I wake I am shaken for hours or even days...so if the stuff I can talk about is to hard for my friends, I understand.

Perhaps I am confusing secrets with the somehow 'bigger' 'truths'?

well being that secrets are truths that someone wants to keep hidden I don't think you are confusing them at all! Unless by secrets you just mean thoughts that you don't want others to know about? There are truths about me & my life that not all my friends know, but at least one or another---> much like you seamac, those that can handle more of the truth....get more of it! Those happy not knowing...don't need to, but the friends I trust...I know I can trust with whatever I tell them.
