Are you talking the original Amityville? It was decent, mainly for James Brolin and Margot Kidder, though I like part 2 more. I also like the older B&W ones like The Haunting, The Innocents, and The Uninvited. Yes, the original. For the most part, I think the original versions are the best ones. I like The Haunting, I actually haven't seen the other two. I liked Psycho and The Invisible Man too. I'm a huge fan of horror movies from the 30's and 40's, Bride of Frankenstein is one of my favorite movies. I also love the old "spooky" comedies like Ghost Breakers with Bob Hope, and Hold That Ghost with Abbott & Costello. Oh my gosh,I love Abbot and Costello!! First time I saw them was 'Who's on First' I liked that one, Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein and In the Navy. |

They never grow old. |

I think my favorite of their movies is The Time Of Their Lives- Lou Costello as a ghost! It doesn't get any better than that. This was one of 2 movies they did (the other being Little Giant) that Bud and Lou didn't play pals, this was during their falling out. Fortunately they reconciled and did a few more movies, and their TV series. |

Not to be confused with the Patrick Swayze Next Of Kin...

Just watched an English horror film called Tormented. It was really good if you appreciate a good slasher movie! I loved it, and being English, appreciated the humour. I'm sure all you American's could give it a go!
I'm not just saying 'all you Americans' but I haven't spoken to a single English person on this site yet! haha |

Definitely enjoy stuff that's coming out from your side of the pond. Have you seen The Cottage? |

Friday The 13th Part 3 Tuff Turf Everybody's Fine I used to watch Tuff Turf a lot as a teen...then I learned Kim Richards had a body double. Talk about having a fantasy shattered. Sigh. |

The Cottage! I love that film, got some really dark humour in it. If you liked that film Torgo I recommend you watch a television series called 'The League Of Gentlemen' if your not already familiar with it. That's really good!
Tormented is brilliant! Although some American's can't seem to understand the English accents in it! |

Although some American's can't seem to understand the English accents in it! I have seen and enjoyed League Of Gentlemen when BBCAmerica aired it. I've never had a problem with the accents, grew up watching British horror(especially Hammer), and classic Dr Who. Also really liked the recent zombie flick from over there- Doghouse. One of my all time favorite British horror flicks is Girly aka Mumsy, Nanny, Sonny, & Girly from 1970- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzaCVD4IMPI |

I love The League Of Gentlemen!
"Hello Dave!" Never seen Mumsy but heard of it! I must admit, us Brits have created some brilliant horror films, especially Hammer, as you mentioned. But I think America has to be the best place that introduced me to horror! I grew up watching Universal's golden age of horror films, like The Phantom of the Opera, Frankenstein, The Mummy, the list goes on! The Phantom of the Opera and Bride Of Frankenstein are two of my favourite horror films and all-time favourite films! |

Same here! Bride Of Frankenstein is in my top 10, I'm a big fan of 30's and 40's horror. Anything produced by Val Lewton like Cat People, The Body Snatcher, The Ghost Ship, I Walked With A Zombie are classics.
Of course England did have it's classic horror films from the 40's- Dead Of Night. Love American horror, especially from the late 60's through the 80's. The Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn Of The Dead '78, Phantasm, and the more off beat stuff like The Baby and Don't Look In The Basement. |
