Child of Art

At a tender, young age I was frivolous,

Clueless, and devoid of true virtue

Artlessness caused me to flounder

And obfuscate what was true art

But only upon seeing you

Did a shimmer of light pass through me

Your elegant beauty gained prominence

And made a beggar of my being

Your disposition: soft and lady-like

But with genuine womanly strength

As if art had bore life

And had spoken in my presence

But in some paradoxical way,

Your simple demeanour drew me near

You felt not to stand out

Yet I always noticed you

I know not what true beauty is,

But you have proven it existent

And by your enticing simplicity,

I know what true art is
