A Carson City man was jailed Thursday, accused of sexual conduct with an

8-year-old girl.

Charles Pierson, 37, a security guard in Reno, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony open and gross lewdness and child abuse causing mental harm.

According to the arrest report, officers served a search warrant on Pierson's Hot Springs Road apartment on Wednesday after receiving information that he was allegedly showing an 8-year-old girl child pornography and masturbating in front of her.

On Thursday morning, Pierson, carrying a Bible with the search warrant tucked inside, turned himself in to police and allegedly confessed, the arrest report said.

While the girl said Pierson tongue kissed her and pulled her pants down to look at her, Pierson denied kissing the child in that way, but admitted to fondling himself in front of her.

Pierson told investigators he had been the victim of child sexual abuse at the hands of his father, who died in prison, and that his family thought he was just like his dad.

“He said, ‘They knew that I was a molester,'” Detective Dena Lacy wrote in the report.

Pierson allegedly told the investigator that he never actually touched the girl, but when he drinks, she is just “too cute” and she arouses him.

Lacy said Pierson's computers will be analyzed for child pornography and more charges could be pending.

Bail was set at $47,500.

Not a psyche and have often wondered to what degree exactly does being molested have to do with your actions 20-30 years later.

Trust me, it doesn't. I've never molested anyone.

Each person is different, how you respond to things may not be the same for someone else. Not trying to justify his actions I'm just curious to know what is behind it from a professional stand point, someone who is a psychologist, sociologist, or psychiatrist.

well, eight year olds are attractive to other eight year olds, so apparently some older people have similar minds to those eight year olds

Im waiting to hear from those who would blame the 8-year old for dressing and acting too provocatively and thus deserving of what she got...because after all, as we've been told..men just cant help themselves.
