I survived and passed my first semester in the RN program with B's!! I am soooo happy and so relieved that this semester has come to an end and with my passing it! It is not easy going to school to become an RN AND work full time but I made it! Now just 5 more semesters to go... sheesh... Some nursing hints: Do NOT wash the thermometers in hot soapy water. Do not attempt to take an anal temperature if they have hemorrhoids. Check for a pulse BEFORE their bath. I give you these as a gift from my nurses-aide work in college :-) Congrats!! LOL thanks! I'll keep all of those in mind!

Their terminology is catchy too. They kept saying 'He went out' when I asked where a patient had been moved to. I would think, geez he could hardly walk.. it means they are dead. When they pee, they are 'voiding.' When they poop, they are 'vacating.' And never, I mean NEVER tickle their toes when they are lying immobilized on a hospital bed. Because, they just might get dressed and wait for you under the covers on check-out day. Then chase you through the hospital to get retribution.

Going to school, working a full-time job, and maintaining a life is a difficult task. Congratulations to you, keep up the great work.

Good Job Lady! Stick to it honey. I remember my mom going through her schooling in her 40's ...I gots nothing but respect. Look at the positives....at least you aint trying to study with raging hormones! (I am amazed kids can even think straight)

Good Job Lady! Stick to it honey. I remember my mom going through her schooling in her 40's ...I gots nothing but respect. Look at the positives....at least you aint trying to study with raging hormones! (I am amazed kids can even think straight) Thanks Krupa! Yeah and it's a good thing I haven't hit menopause yet either! That would NOT be good! LOL

Congratz!! When you do become a RN don't be one of those rude RNs. Going back to school is rough, I plan on going back for Surgical Assistant which is 4-6 years depending on full time or part time student. Oh joy. NJmom I am a medical assistant, just like grneyedldy said I do love my job but I want more education. An I would rather deal with pts who are under lmao easier to deal with.

YAY! Thanks Tanya! Aren't you in school too? As soon as I submit my finals, I will have a masters degree. I am done for a while (a few years) and then I'll go back to get a PhD or possibly a law degree.
