I always thought going out to dinner was perfect because you could get to know the person..but it might be a tad cliche...any ideas?

I think going to dinner puts a lot of stress on the female! Some women, like myself, don't like to eat in front of the men until we get to know them better! I know several of my friends are this way also so its just not me.

I dont mind eating in front of a guy...but personally I would say my favortie first date out of those I have had would have to have been the amusement park....it was amazing...I loved it eben tho the guy turned out to be a jerk

Dinner is OK as long as it's REAL casual....my experience has led me to think just meeting for coffee or your choice of beverage is the way to go for a first date...you still have the opportunity to get to know a person.

She is right, i think this is the time to get rid off this traditional way of meeting-eating, the best way to meet a coffee place or a book shop or any other place, except eating place. It is so boring now.

Dinner is great.....but pick a place you can talk without yelling. A Fondue restaurant is fun and usualy conducive to conversation.
My opinion.......beware of women who can't eat in front of you!!

Unsure........
My opinion....
Eating has become a big health issue lately.....
If you can't eat in front of someone, you might have some issues.

I think that going to a nice place to eat then going to the beach for a nice walk or just sit and talk :)

UBglad, you are probably right...my whole family thinks that about me. I do diet all the time, I just lost 125 pounds and I refuse to put a single pound back on. I eat once a day and people do question if I have an eating disorder. I myself don't think I do...I do eat healthy food, probably not enough

Unsure,
Your honest with yourself thats a good sign. Food for many is a connection to many feelings........the past-good or bad, a comfort, a friend. Don't let it keep you from living a full and healthy life. When it get's in the way of your happiness and everyday living.......get help.Remember your family knows you better than most and loves you. God bless

For a date, I like to go to a venue such as a blues fest or something of the sort. Something public, not too much pressure.....and of course you have to eat, so definately eating is a must.....it doesnt have to be fancy!happy
