no joke. There was something like 85 in my graduate class (in graphic design). I'm pretty sure 4 of us have jobs in the field. Not trying to say you can't do it. If you have the desire and talent, then you'll be fine. Just a heads up. |

I am studing software design. I have plans on taking visual communication after I graduate. This is sort of sounds like your question. Though art and design is very non-specific. I should be able to do animations and colorfull (visually sharp looking) web design by the time I am finished. |

I hear ya. I'm also a certified graphic designer. Hiring managers will not hire me. After they browse through my prtfolio, I can see the panic in their eyes. They are intimidated from my skills. They fear that I will replace them oneday!

I originally set out for art education and switched to a studio art degree with emphasis in painting and emphasis in drawing.
