you forgot crimewave mate campbell rocks Haven't seen it yet, but now I'll make a point of it! Bruce is hilarious in Crimewave, just don't expect him to be the star, he's in it for under 10 mins. I also recommend Going Back, it's Bruce's first movie after Evil Dead. It's a nice little character film about 2 friends right before they enter college. Also Running Time, a cool little heist film shot in real time. It's directed by Josh Becker who is a long time friend of Bruce and Sam Raimi. Bruce also has a small but memorable part in Becker's Lunatics: A Love Story. Sundown: A Vampire In Retreat, Bruce plays a klutzy descendant of Van Helsing. And Bruce has a very funny cameo in Waxworks II. If you can find them I also recommend the short films Bruce and Same made before Evil Dead. Especially Within The Woods, this was a short(about 30 mins) made for prospective buyers in the late 70's when they were trying to finance Evil Dead. A lot of the ideas they used they later used in Evil Dead II. I also recommend his books If Chins Could Kill: Confessions Of A B-Movie Actor, and Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way. And keep your eyes out for the sequel to They Call Me Bruce- Bruce Campbell vs Frankenstein Can't wait! http://www.slashfilm.com/bruce-campbell-says-bruce-vs-frankenstein-will-be-the-expendables-of-horror/ |

My buddy Paul and I are huge Bruce Campbell fans. In fact, I was the one who introduced Paul to Campbell's humor by getting him to watch Army of Darkness. That movie is now one of his favorites, and he's followed Campbell's career since. He loved the scene with the scarab in Bubba Ho-Tep, and laughed until it hurt. Now I have a list for shopping that will make him quite happy, and we'll reserve these flicks for a movie night when I visit. |

Been a long time Campbell fan since the 80's, I think it started when I started getting into him and Same Raimi's movies.
Even though Bruce isn't in it, he joins in for the DVD commentary on the movie Thou Shalt Not Kill, he was originally going to play the lead, but couldn't because of another film he was involved in(I think Crimewave), but most of the interior sets were film inside Bruce Campbell's garage. And Brisco County was too short lived! |
