What a crock, wonder how he is related to or knows the contractor he has in mind to take over. Leave it alone but have congress change the regulations and force TSA to do things differently.

Seeking to capitalize on the growing furor over passenger patdowns, a powerful Florida congressman is pushing for airports to consider ditching TSA agents altogether in favor of private contractors -- a proposal that the Transportation Security Administration conditionally supports.

But Rep. John Mica, R-Fla., a longtime critic of the TSA, counts among his campaign contributors some of the companies that might take the TSA's place. In the past 13 years, he has received almost $81,000 in campaign donations from political action committees and executives connected to some of the private contractors already at 16 U.S. airports.

Or better yet, hire the security head for El Al and let him implement the same security detail as Israel.

Israel implemented a system of checks 8 years ago and there has not been one breech in that time. That says something about their way of doing things. It requires questioning every passenger. 1st as they enter the airport property, then again at the door and as they go thru the airport. It takes 30 minutes from door to gate. Had we had a system like this we would have caught the shoe bomber in FL when he landed.
