The US Senate is supposed to finalize this law, finally...apparently they have a few versions of the law and there's still some debate as to which one but it's supposed to be sent to the WH for the president's signature soon...ya think we can expect bipartisan support on THIS one?

Meanwhile....I am watching A Few Good Men on AMC and have to hit mute each time the ads come on....I swear they're turning it up even louder in the last days. Not sure when the law takes effect after being signed in...probably Jan 1...egads this years holiday bullchit is going to be even worse...

They have those equalizer things you can buy to make the sound an even volume. I don't think the law is really necessary, since you can control the volume.

But, if they do get this law passed, hopefully they can pass one against pigeons pooping on my car, or against rain clouds coming within 5 miles of my car after I wash it.

I just think there's more important things to worry about now.

Someone had to do something about that BS. I am sick of watching a program and suddenly the volume goes to MAX on its own! Then I have to crank up the volume to hear my show.

I am sick and tired of the constant barrage of advertising. It gets much worst until Dec 25th when it all gets quiet again!

Comparing birdchit to electronic media? I also need to control the volume constantly?

Yeah uh...I'll take "pass the law" option.

Glad to see the U.S. is dumping money into this. Such an important issuenoway

All I know is that usually revolves around HD programing. Its difficult to get the same audio/visual quality, as you can from a primary source in your home such as a BD player. Bit rate, compression and such other terms which everyone won't understand compromises programming.

Sorry, but dont waste $$$ on true 1080p whether its cable/satellite, or whatever. Compression to go through the lines reduces the actual HD picture. 720 is just fine. 1080 strictly for BD/PS3 etc.

Sorry for the rant and back to the topic at hand. But, I have noticed this on a few channels, but never bothered me enough to complain. It hasn't happened in a while now, with the auto volume control on my TV. Same volume on commercial as well as the picture. Artificial Intelligence Sound on my Panasonic.

Who knows. Probably geared to make you pay attn to the commercials.

Didn't we use to ***** and moan when we got up to change the channel?

Sorry about the rant and me going off the tangent. drinker

Eh, I never watch commercials anyway, I usually muted until it comes back on, I did this even before the volume started going up. And now that I pretty much DVR everything I just fast forward through them.
