go to the horses mouth, the other dancers. they tend to support each other as in any other line of work. don't be afraid to talk to them, they will tell you all you need to know, from costumes, to what to look out for from not only the boss, but which customers to stay away from.
most bosses will steer you in the right direction, but remember, there are slobs in that business also. good luck.

Spray perfume that isn't overwhelming, shoes vary by establishment, under garments have to meet state requirements. I used to be a bouncer at a strip joint, not a frequenter.

a friend of a friend of a friend told me this...the rules are different in different clubs. usually one of the girls who has been there awhile will take a shine to a new girl and teach her how the place is run. sometimes she will lend you a "costume" and or shoes, but as soon as you start making money, you buy your own and return the favor. some clubs have a store where a gentleman can purchase lingerie for a dancer. like every other job you will run into people who do not care for you. lastly, everyone of those girls is heavily purfumed.

there are also city and county standards in some places. the other girls are usually the ones that will indoctrinate the new girls as to what's what. they swap costuming garmets all the time.

the problem with me is i am the smallest girl there i am only 5-2 and i am under 100 pounds

don't worry about it, you're not the first that small and won't be the last. some men love tiny dancers, some love larger dancers and everything in between. i'm sure if you got something large enough to tie a sexy knot here and there, you'll be a hit, kinda like elly may in the clampets. you'll look hot with a little piece of rope around your waist.

I know what ya mean homegirl. There was this one time that I worked in a club, and I had the same wardrobe inquiries as you. I went to my boss, and he was all like, "Ugh!" And I was like, "Huh?" And then he was like, "Not uh!" And I was like, "Yeah!" So he went, "Oh no you didn't!" And I was like, "LOL!"


Short story shorter, in the end... I ended up wearing Push Me In The Bushes cologne, flip-flops, and a diaper with skidmarks.
