most people aren't ready for a serious relationship. no matter age some people are confused and reject great chances at real relationships and love. lol and sleeping with just anybody or everybody isn't helping though most people are happy bieng single and having many sex partners... only one persons opinion... nobody is happy bieng alone! :)

It's sad how someone has something to say and the self-righteous people have to belittle and change the thread to what they want to talk about. Start your own and quit bullying!! I agree with you cherry! There are alot of people who aren't ready for real love. They are too busy picking apart people to see the good in them.

Didn't mean to bully. Was just pointing out that she is young and single and has the whole world of love and pain infront of her to yet understand. I didn't know much at 22, I know a little bit more at 29, who knows what I will know at 42. It appears you have it all figured out already. BTW, it is self-riteous of you say I am too busy picking apart someone to see the good in them. You just picked me apart in this post. Did you take the time to see the good in me? Since you know all there is to know and agree so heartily with the girl so young to your senior and life experiences.

I know I know, we're all just a bunch of people that have loose morals, don't care about really finding a good companion, selfish, and walled off from getting really close to anyone because of synosism, fear, or inability to care......
........
Was that steeped in to much sarcasm?

Needless categorizing and labeling people you don't know could be the reason your jaded...
Let go of that luggage hun....

most people aren't ready for a serious relationship.

'Most people' being the 15 people I know personally from high school, college and my part time job at mcDonalds.

no matter (what) age some people are confused and reject great chances at real relationships and love.

well it doesn't take a PHD to type this generalisation....**sigh**

lol and sleeping with just anybody or everybody isn't helping

Says who???...if it causes no harm to the parties involved, who gives a rats razoo???

though most people are happy bieng single and having many sex partners... only one persons opinion...

yep, it is.....one person's opinion.

nobody is happy bieng alone! :)

actually....Miss Young Queen of the Generalised Observations....

YOU are not happy being alone, and possibly neither are your peer group....that happens with the fresh out of home, "this independence thing is not all it's cracked up to be" set....

Fantastic!....

Wow! I didn't name any names, but the self-righteous know who they are. I just made a simple comment and didn't point fingers at any specific person. There is more than one person on here that I feel is that way. Yes. She is young and hasn't lived a long life yet. And me being 42, neither have I. But I have been around the block a time or two. I've seen when people say things that might make someone feel inferior and unwanted. That's what I saw. I don't pick anyone apart and am sorry you think I did you. I just stick up for someone I feel was wronged.

Nah....I guess it's atypical of a 22 year old's outlook...when they hit a flat spot in their lives, they get all bent out of shape and of course they are still the centre of their universes at that age... with the amount of bombardment these kids have received in their young lives, from tv, internet, self help books, it's no wonder they are jaded and loaded with generalisations.

Doll, you didn't change the thread, I did....

You asked a question that others would have asked if you had not beaten us to the punch....and the OP made such a generalized statement that by asking these questions, we wanted to know how she came to her conclusions.

oh bedlum... Lol! I'm not here to argue or fight with anyone. My jadedness has nothing to do with categorizing or labeling people or what is going on here. If me sticking up for someones feelings makes me a bad person... Then I'm Satan!

I'm thinking the point everyone seems to be making is that the OP made vast generalizations that included the majority of the population that she has no way of knowing... I don't think anyone bullied or picked on her personally, they let her know that 1) not everyone is like that so don't lump them together and 2) she's young yet and has no idea what the years hold going forward...

I really don't see the need to defend someone that is not being personally attacked, people have a right to their opinion and as she stated that was her opinion. If someone doesn't want other opinions or responses then they shouldn't post in public forums...

I can't speak for "most people," or anybody but myself, really.

But I can definitely say I'm ready for a serious relationship. I just can't find anybody who fits.

Hmmm...22 years old and has already met and interviewed "most" people on their readiness for a serious relationship. How did you accomplish all that, Honey?

No different than any of us when we were that age or younger. Would it of made you feel good if someone asked you the same question when you were younger and knew everything?

Anyway, I generally think most people are just testing the water of online dating, even in real life I think most people are just testing the water. Taking an average of the age range here on this site we have a median of probably about 25, at 25 I think the last thing anyone wants to do is jump into something without being entirely sure of what it is...coupled with the rather new age of dating online, it can be an awkward position for just about anyone of any age.

Humans really are quite predictable if you study their habits while they are locked in a glass cage with a wheel for excercise.smokin

cherry I think people have different reasons at all ages, for being ready, or not for a relationship - vs just dating or hanging out

me? I was married for 17 years- got totally shafted, then had a 5 yr on & off relationship that really never went very well...

Soooooooo...ya...I'm a little nervous about this love stuff right about now - so ya, I've spent the last few years js chillin' & I think it's understandable

I am ready for a relationship but it will take someone who for once loves me as much as I love him
