I am of course, a vet of hundreds of years experience, but where is a "Cannon" bone? Can it not be set with splints etc? It's like our furmur bone, think I misspelled that. No it cannot be set. It was her hind leg. |

I vaguely recollect seeing a horse in a sling, with most of its weight taken by a rafter, after a broken leg. I also think the horse was a "money is no object" animal that had won huge$'s. It was to be retired to stud

Yes, that has happened..it took months of tending to. It was a race horse..this one was not that lucky...the cost could easily go into the hundreds of thousands for care like that. The horse that your are thinking of had a hairline fracture, ours had her bone broken into.

 I appreciate the two horses circumstances were wildly different, but since I now nowt about horses, I thought that I should mention it. Obviously it was too late. About all I know about horses is how to make them run slow! I'm so good at that I've been banned at the local race course
