I dont see anything wrong with summer wanting to travel. She is young and likely just graduated High School. Its good she is willing to open her mind to new places and people, but She cant have a very good understanding of her world here, yet!

Western Europe is fun, but America is home and it is the best place on Earth. Dont fall for the BS,(hint..) America cant be too bad if everyone is trying so hard to get here!

I wish all Americans had your curiosity about the world and desire to make a difference. There is nothing like travel and living on other continents to broaden your own understanding of how the world works, and how human beings are.

On the face of it, it sounds absurd that anyone would say this in unamerican. Americans have a rich tradition of travel and assisting in development overseas, and I am delighted that you want to follow in their footsteps.

I hope you'll share with us some of your thinking about where you want to go and what you might want to do. I know quite a bit about Europe and the Middle East and would be happy to give you information if you would like it. They are both wonderful paces to visit, as I am sure many other parts of the world are.

The world is open before you...go for it!

Let me restate it...In the Province I am in the crime rates are low!!! Simple as that...If you want to post statistics...that's fine...What I know is that I feel very safe in walking the streets...
I honestly don't understand why people think it's a bad thing to step out of a comfort zone and experience something different...it puts a better perspective on the world in which we live....
And just to make it perfectly clear as to where I stand on Americans.....I am an American...I love the American people on a whole...doesn't mean that there arent' idiots in power..Thank you Bush...but I do not bash my fellow Americans...maybe some of the laws that I see...

Hey (((Gypsy))) (((Belushi)))... It's been a heck of a day, planes trains, buses, taxi's....getting dumped in the middle of Hong Kong by a taxi driver that didn't speak English....and of course no rooms at hotels! It's a holiday! But I found one!!! YAY!!!
And if I'd been able to find a rickshaw, would have taken that too
My god, when I stepped off the plane thought I was in Ecuador again!. But this city is beautiful...I have a view of the harbor from this 19th floor

I never made it to HK. I wanted to go before the Chinese took over, but I could not get the time off work.
