you can usually rant long enough til they just let you in.

they will let you in once they have the situation under control. most of the time the area they are working in is small and they need the room for equipment and trained personel. they may not be as concerned as you are, but they have a job to do and are trained to do it. relax and realize that they will get things under control and get you in as soon as possible.

thats normal, they dont want any lawsuits, when I had my c-sections, my husband wasnt even allowed in until after the epidural and anesthsia and everything, im like wtf, i think it causes too much commotion(what they claim) but I really think-and this should go in my conspiracy topic- is that they are afraid to ahve any witness if they accidently mess something up. Im not trying to scare you, just letting you know its standard procedure.

Discharge is totally normal before childbirth occurs, she will be okay.congratulations by the way!!!!!drinker

yes you should have to. it is not your job, they are the professionals. once they allow you back there, you can ask all of the questions you need to.

stay out of their way and put your wife and baby ahead of your need to be there.

this is true and i understand but it seem like every time they want to do something they asked me to step out when she was geting undressed they asked me to step out after that they said they wouldn't do anything tell i was back in the room and they went a head and my wife cried cuz i wasn't there to covert her. it really upset me and now i'm all depressed from it.

im not trying to make you feel worse or bring you down but it was the scariest thing ever being in there alone waiting for them to send my husband in. Honestly, once they drug her up,she wont remember anyways, try not to think about yourself right now---(guilt) you two are bringing a human into the world. the Docs, they know whats up-goodnight

i know what your saying and your right but she asked if i would be there by here side the whole time and she was the one who cried cuz i wasn't i just want what she wants and she wanted me to be there.
it's just if they tell my why i can't be there that would be fine
i would just like to know why i can't and when i asked them they couldn't tell me?
you know i just want to be there every step of the way.
thats all

you are there bro, and as soon as they can someone who KNOWS something will talk to you and prep you to be with her. look some dudes faint when they see that kinda thing and if you are there and you pass out, then they have to deal with both of you. be strong and you will be in there soon enough.

my wife insisted they let me in, and they redily and easily conceded...

three children all the same...

your the strength, but only most if "she requests" it...

she's in charge...

speak up...

what you are asking here, could easily be spoken to the powers that be...

even in the exact same way you wrote it here...

gathering sympathy for your cause works much better than demands...

tell your wife to tell them to "PLEASE give me my man"....

she can even fake cry for ya....

it works well, lol...

as soon as i got in, my wife laughed, at how well she acted to get me in there, lol...

the "fastest" you'll get in depends on how well she implores them!

it can hardly be misssed, care givers each day do seem to take on more of a "you are priviliged to be here" mentality...

you are paying for THEIR SERVICE.

it is not charity, even if your on assistance.

CONGRATS MAN!

peace

No...you have every right to be in the room as long as you don't get in the way...even if she goes to c section you will need to get scrubbed though

My dad was never chased out for any reason. Both he and mom wouldn't have put up with it. Must depend on the hospital and doctors involved, as well. Dad and the doctor were on good terms since they frequently discussed the similarities and differences between cattle and women. Dad had had a dairy farm and pretty much delivered any calves, so wasn't freaked out or upset like some guys are known to get. He actually delivered me since the doc was about a minute late, literally.

Face it, if I was a doctor trying to deal with a injured patient the last thing I need is some freaked out family member adding to the pressure I am already under trying to do my job dealing with an emergency situation.

It is better you are out of the way and not being in the doctor's face. All you would do is ask a lot of meaningless questions, interfere trying to help, and you could cause the doctor to make a grievous mistake.

Man up, shut up, sit back, and do what the rest of us in situations like these have to do...

Hurry up and wait!

BTW, if you present too much of a problem for the doctors (ie. raise a stink, complain a lot, or cause a fuss or god forbid you actually threaten anyone) they will call the police and they will haul you to jail. I know enough doctors and my mom is a retired ER nurse. Hospitals will not put up with sh*tt any more.
