Due mostly to geographic considerations, I can have no bareing in the outcome, (aside from not being American) but I have to wonder if the US is ready yet for a president who is less than white. While I appreciate that in America there are different values on such things, In NZ we don't tend to worry about the skin colour, the greater interest is in, "what's in it for me". A common expression here is, "The voter has a short memory". Sadly, this is a tru-ism, generally proven every 3 years.

It is not unknown for some of our pollys to not get through the first term, hell, some don't get more than 6 months past the election! However those who can tell the best lies can stay on for seemingly centuries.  I agree regarding the pensions, pollys idea of a salary & a pension are totally devoid of reality
