Google 2.4% Rate Shows How $60 Billion Lost to Tax Loopholes

Fair Tax, Taxpayer Choice, whatever, I think an implementation of a flat tax that lacked loopholes would be far prefereable to a system that allows on corporation to pay 2.4% while most others pay 35%.

Corporations don't run America and yes, I would. If corporations ran America, I would expect all Corporations to pay a 0% tax rate or something significantly lower than 35%. Then they wouldn't have to do legal and financial gymnastics to keep their tax rates down.

if the corporations don't run America, then who are the lobbyist? who is giving the greedy politicians money to run their agenda?

They influence policy, they don't run the country. And if you have a problem with loybbyists, then the answer is simple: Don't vote for politicians unless they promise to not take money from lobbyists. Or demand transparency, so that we know where politicians get their money from and how much they get.

I thought you were going to say we would save $12.1 billion because we would no longer need the IRS with a flat tax.

I support a flat tax. no income based tax, everyone pays, no loopholes, no tax on used purchases, no tax on capital gains, no IRS... ect ect... it's a total win win, nor is it a new idea. Biden was one of the senators that was supporting a flat tax structure back in the 80's.....

As for corporate tax, I will take 2.4% of google's profit over your 35% on 30k any day.

They recently found that corporations have the same rights as individuals. By that logic, individuals have the same rights as corporations. Maybe what we should do is file taxes the same way corporations do and see if we can get some of those tax incentives to operate like the oil industry has.

Taxpayer Choice Act would lower the tax rate for anyone making under 100k to 10%. Personally, I favor the Fair Tax, which would apply a standard 23% sales tax on everyone and every adult would receive a prebate every month "equivalent to the FairTax paid on essential goods and services", which right now would be around $209 / month for a single adult with no children. No loopholes and no individual filing, all tax returns would be filed by companies.

Why not just have taxes taken out like regular and it be a flat tax and their be no returns?

You can't eliminate the IRS. Someone will have to collect the taxes and enforce the law on those who don't comply. If the taxes are taken out of pay, then the IRS will have to be larger (to deal with the larger number of tax payers) than they would need to be if they were only collecting taxes from retailers. Fair Tax would result in the most shrinkage of the IRS of the tax plans I have seen.

We got one that promised transparency. Another said she'll drain the scum.
Both are liars.
Corporations call the shots.
Come Nov., I'd like to see the voters drain the scum from the pit.

Voters have to be smart and expect as much from their representatives as they would from someone who worked for them. If you vote for someone who doesn't keep their promises, don't vote for them again. Look at Bush 41, he lost the election for signing in a Democrat pushed tax increase into law. That's GREAT. Regardless of party or how much I like their politics, it's most important to be able to depend on a politician to do what they say they will do.

That's where the career politicians fail.
Dump Pelosi, retire Rangel, and neuter BHO with third and fourth party representation.

A vote for a 3rd or 4th party is a vote for Pelosi. We have to take over the GOP and turn it into the party we want. Otherwise, we are simply giving the Democrats an eternal majority.
