I just looked at the joke he posted.. It was a joke.. I know some won't find it funny but he was only posting a joke...
We have to remember that everyone has different personalities and finds different things funny or offensive.. We can't let ourselves be offended by every different point of view or people just playing.. I'll bet he's never known anyone truly abused or the joke wouldn't be so funny... I'm sure he didn't mean any harm, he's a pretty good guy from what I can tell.. |

The frayed knot joke you mentioned in a pun, which is a joke at the reader's expense. A pun is considered obvious humor and people often groan, because they are thinking "Why didn't I think of that myself". A pun is a feat of mental gymnastics, which invokes envy in the listener. Therefore, a pun is made at the expense of the listener. As Heinlein noted, all good jokes are told at someone's expense. |
