Where's them "create or save" jobs again?
US sees 95,000 jobs lost in September National Career Fair in Los Angeles High unemployment is undermining the US recovery The US economy lost another 95,000 jobs in September, as public sector cuts outpaced hiring by the private sector. According to the Labor Department figures, the fall was almost double August's 54,000 job loss number. The jobless rate held at 9.6%, but still marks the 14th straight month it has been above 9.5%. The jobs news sent stocks slightly higher after raising expectations the US Federal Reserve will take further action to pump money into the economy. The main Dow Jones index closed above 11,000 for the first time in five months, rising 58 points to 11,006.48. Part-timers A total of 159,000 government lay-offs were made in September, with the private sector adding 64,000 positions, the weakest gain since June. Of the public sector job cuts, about 76,000 were in local government, with a large number of lay-offs among teachers, analysts said. The so-called "under-employment rate" - those who have given up looking for work or are part-timers seeking full-time posts - rose to 17.1% in September from 16.7% in August. Sectors showing jobs growth included healthcare, retailing, and leisure and hospitality. In the private sector, the manufacturing and construction industries cut the most jobs. Meanwhile, revisions to data for July and August showed 15,000 more jobs were lost in those months than previously reported. The jobless data is the Labor Department's final report before November's elections to Congress, when the Democrats will come under intense pressure about the state of the economy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-11502435 |

Actual situation is far worse.
Lots of 'under-the-table' jobs went away also. In addition you will find that when the 'election' of November is done the 'actual' (unajusted for bs) numbers will get leaked to the public. We been lied to so that the vote might not be quite as overwhelming. (cause we is in BIG trouble). its called politics. and every person 'authorized' to release data to the public will 'skew' that data as much as possible to further their 'personal' political agenda. Fact of life. Lots of sneeky little rats work for the government. |

I could imagine unemployment to be at 25% of the nation.
Those folks who are still working good jobs need to kick in more for those extensions. They aren't putting up enough to maintain the ones who are using it to vacation on. |

employees arent paying the UC
'Operating as a federal-state partnership, UC is based on federal law, but administered by the states. The UC program is unique among U.S. social insurance programs in that it is funded almost totally by either federal or state taxes paid by employers. Currently, employers pay federal unemployment taxes of 6.2 percent on the first $7,000 earned by each of their employees during a calendar year. These federal taxes are used to cover the costs of administering the UC programs in all states. In addition, the federal UC taxes pay one-half of the cost of extended unemployment benefits (during periods of high unemployment) and provide for a fund from which states may borrow, if necessary, to pay benefits. State UC tax rates vary from state-to-state. State UC taxes may be used only to pay benefits to unemployed workers. The state UC tax rate paid by employers is based on the state's current unemployment rate. As their unemployment rates go up, the states are required by federal law to raise the UC tax rate paid by employers' http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/federalbenefitprograms/a/ucprogram.htm incentive to do more hiring, if ever there was one,, the more who are without jobs the more EMPLOYERS pay,,,,,, |

So, it's the tax payers who are paying the welfare extensions. They needs ta' dig deeper to keep the vacationers livin' the good life. |

BHO ain't doin' jack to save and create jobs. Too busy campaignin' for other crooks.
It was just, "Tell 'em what they wanna' hear. They'll believe anything." Anyone with a job can tell you. On their Paycheck it shows how much was deducted from their check for state and federal taxes. The money and interest is used for paying the welfare extensions. This is no disrespect to those who are actively seeking work. Just those who choose to sit on their asssess and live off the good-will of the tax payer. <<<<This one needs to go on the asss kickin' thread. ![]() ![]() |

I can actually understand that, although I cant agree that there couldnt have been any number of reasons that job would be lost anyhow, in THIS case, the reason was cutbacks |

I can actually understand that, although I cant agree that there couldnt have been any number of reasons that job would be lost anyhow, in THIS case, the reason was cutbacks There was no assumption. My job was still there. He canceled a multi billion dollar program that had over 800 people on it at my facility. The company and local government was fighting to keep the program and they filtered its engineers into other engineering positions. (this was the presidential helicopter program btw). I worked on naval helos which was the only other helo program at my facility. They filtered many people into our dept and basically gave them our jobs so they could still be in the company if that program was saved. No assumption... all fact. |

BHO did save and create jobs.
For China, Mexico, India, Egypt. Paying Afghan farmers for the opium. Inviting Illegals to take jobs from Americans. Construction pays well and most of those jobs are taken by Illegals. Like I said, those still working need to dig deeper. |

Numbers tell the story: 900 jobs, 76,400 unemployed
this is in MY area of the country so much for the implication that people are simply not working because jobs are 'beneath' them |
