Beautiful pics Jeff, On my todo list was
a trip up the California coast, LA to SF..
finally got to do the Big Sur/Carmel
thing a couple of yrs ago...

I grew up in the Bay area, and every year
we stayed at Big Sur on vacation.
No other place in the world quite like it.
I am glad you got to partake of that sista :-)

I lived in the Bay Area when the big one hit in 89,
We had those damn earthquake drills all the time. grumble

Ya, they become second nature.
Once you get past the image of the earth opening
up and swallowing you whole.

I will give you my six degrees of separation
from Mark Harmon (your photo.)
His sister Chris was married to Ricky Nelson.
He babysat me when I was little, in Laguna Beach,
California.
Okay. That is only three degrees.

I know that Mark Harmon is his former brother in law, I know a lot about the guy he is one of my favorite actors on my absolute favorite TV show and that picture is from the show as Gunny Gibbs.

I also am a huge fan of Ricky Nelson. He was amazing until the later years when he started freebasing.

His son's Matthew and Gunnar(from the band Nelson) do Ricky Nelson Remembered concert's all across the country and they do their dad amazingly. It's worth checking out, I actually got to be their bodyguard at the event, they are really nice too.

Also if you love Ricky's music, check out the link below. It is his three son's Matther, Gunnar and Sam preforming Garden Party. Sam sounds so much like his dad. It's an awesome version.

The Siletz River empties into Siletz Bay,
which then empties into the Pacific Ocean.
On the way down the river, trees are tumbled
into the water, then into the Bay, then onto
the shore.

This ensures a never-ending supply of logs,
and driftwood with which to make bonfires.
Many people collect large blocks of cedar
trees to make furniture and touristy items :-)

I realized once I left that I should have
brought home a chunk of driftwood, wrote the
date on it and kept it as a souvenir.

You better come back and get it :-)
I just saw Charlie, returning Jeff's
fishing stuff, and he said to tell you
he was going out next week......

Instead of my usual 'too late', this time I was 'too early' sad
You must have had the morning cold snap he was waiting for.
Awww I'm jealous.
Tell Charlie hi from us.
