Your electoral college really renders the whole idea of "voting for the president" a moot issue,...the Gore/Bush elections made that pretty clear...the most popular candidate isnt necessarily the one that is going to get elected.

There was no doubt about this election. Obama recieved 53% of the popular vote, over 8 million more votes than mccain. Obama also won the electoral college 365 to 173.

52% to 48% isn't a a major win on the populus. I also doubt very highly that Obama will get more then 100 electorial votes in the next election.

Do you know how many Republican's and Democrat's in the country and in it's leadership said after and in the months following 9/11, "Thank God George Bush is our President" and, "God Bless the USA and God Bless George Bush"? To many to count. Even Lieberman who was on the opposing ticket said it!
