this is fundamentally why I am cautious to believe everything I see and hear in the media,, , there is such a surge to report things first and not to be the last with the story,, that the research for these stories has become less and less dependable

sensational and controversial make more money than well researched and factually relevant

even in my local news, which is what I trust most, I wait at least a month from the time a story is 'broken' ,,to get the most accurate details of what really happened
