I am using this thread to compile movies that were over the top or outrageous. These are films with quirky logic, strange visuals, and bazaar story lines. there are plenty of them:

My list begins with:

The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen
Six String Samurai
Tank Girl
Cannonball Run
Fido
Brazil
Don Quioxti
Mystery Men
Eraser Head
Twin Peaks

Start adding to it folks!

Looking for those STRANGE movies.

Showgirls- Wayyy over the top.
Blue Velvet
Halloween III- To this day, people still wonder what the film really was all about. And why did they decide to go without Michael Myers.
Crash- Car crashes = really hot sex.

Really? The plot wasn't deep- a madman wants to end humankind starting with the children.

John Carpenter had no plans of bringing back Myers, which is why he killed him off in the second film. His intentions were to have a different Halloween themed story for each sequel, but because Halloween III did poorly at the box office the producers brought Myers back.

As a standalone film I think it's very underrated, sort of a gory Twilight Zone episode.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I didn't want to watch it again to figure it out.

As a standalone film I think it's very underrated, sort of a gory Twilight Zone episode.

I have always said that if this movie had not been named Halloween III, most would have felt it was pretty good. But because it has the tie in to the Halloween franchise, it was assumed that Myers would always be a part of the series.

I honestly felt it was made way ahead of its' time. Back then, people didn't want scary films that made you think. Halloween III does that. And Cochran is one of the most underrated villains in movie history. Scary old man. The way he talks about killing the children as a "joke" still sends shivers down my spine.

Haha I thought you meant you didn't understand the plot. But I agree, if it was released as Season Of The Witch it would have been more successful.

Yep, a great villain. And Tom Atkins makes for a great hero as usual.

And the Silver Shamrock jingle is still creepy!

Torgo, I have been a fan of this movie since I saw it as a kid. The scene with the kid watching the commercial and then him dying before your eyes is wicked. But it was Cochran that sold me on this movie. I actually wanted him to win. And, with the way the movie ends, he might have won. Hehe.

Also, it should be noted that Stacy Neilkin has one of the best frontal nudity beaver shots of all time. drool

It truly is a sadly underrated movie.

Great combination of horror, scifi, humor, and beaver.

I did mention Delicatessen.

If you mention The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, you need to mention the sequels- Now You See Him, Now You Don't, and The World's Strongest Man.
