What she said was actually very witty and biting commentary on the news media. She made her John Edwards is an "F-word" comment at around the same time that Bill Maher said he wished Cheney had been killed in a terrorist attack. She was attacked for her comment, but nobody complained about Bill Maher's comment. So on GMA, she said "I've learned my lesson, if I’m going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I’ll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot."

The irony is so sweet that you are offended by her comment, but you would probably have laughed or at least not been offended by Bill Maher's comment.

Bill Maher is as offensive as she is...but I don't think that many people saw him saw that, as a opposed to Ann saying it. But still wishing death on people, witty or no, is still pretty lame IMO

She didn't wish death on anyone, it was a joke, poking fun at the media. It's witty, it's edgey, it's offensive, but she didn't wish death on John Edwards or anyone else. Bill Maher, was serious however, about wanting to see the Vice President of the USA murdered.

It's all part of the same media circus, designed for the amusement of kids of all ages. By tuning out, you prevent yourself from being one of the marks in a high tech shell game designed only to part one with one's cash. By not buying books by political polemicists, one can save the money and spend it on something truly educational instead of something more suited for cut-rate wrapping at a fish market.
