kids stand trial to, and its not the years in your life its the life in your years which count,,,,but beside the point of the inconsistency I speak of,,,,,even if a 12 year old was aware of right and wrong, certainly their LIMITED emotional and in tellectual capacity wouldnt justify a court holding them to a higher standard of culpability for ENTICING someone than it would hold the actual ADULT (minded) person who committed the murder

She is an adult. Not a 12 year old.
Just because someones IQ is the same as a 12 year olds as you compared hers to doesn't mean that she has the mentality of a 12 year old.

I'm sure she was deemed mentally stable by a psychiatrist other wise she would have never gone to trial and been found guilty.

and what of her getting a death penalty but not the adults with full mental capacity who pulled the trigger?

That's the decision of the judge and jury.

I believe all 3 should have gotten the death penalty.

I will never believe in the death penalty and the only time I can conceive of how others can stomach it is when someone has actually taken a life THEMSELF,

enticing someone to do it shouldn't count, unless its done under extreme duress

they should be killing them quicker and more often... televising them would be ok too, maybe a pay-per-view type thing...

I am not looking forward towards the day when people are going to be judged by the standards which they judge others,,

I really wish the best for all people, and for enlightenment for those embracing or struggling with the virus of hate, ignorance, or violence

, for effectiveness: Id suggest treatment, institutionalized unless or until fit to be released

it took someone else to actually do the harm, so I dont think I could buy that she is a harm to society at large at all

for FAIRNESS, Id suggest that those who pulled the trigger should by no means receive a lighter sentence than the one who spoke the desire but didnt act on it herself

The murderers on Death Row, who are 100% at fault, should be executed quickly.
I dont see mrsharmony "caring" for the victims or their families....only for the criminals. Thats insane, and stupid.

Even that big racist in the sky says that if anyone takes a life, so shall his life be taken.

An eye for an eye, and tooth for tooth.

If you murder, prepare yourself for death too.

Speaking as one of those 'lefties' - I believe strongly that the death penalty is ALWAYS wrong. The issue always exposes strong feelings - I know that. An argument I often had with my first wife: (who ironically ended up spending 16 years over in Florida having married an American after our divorce) revolved around this issue. She would say - how would you feel if someone killed our daughter. My answer - and it remains the same today - If I could get my hands on him or her, then I would probably kill them myself. BUT - that would NOT bring my kid back to life. Neither would it in any way put right the terrible wrong that had been done. At the end of the day, with the passage of time - all we would have is two tragic deaths for the price of one.

Then we come to the possibility of wrongful conviction. There are many examples of this from the bad old days in the UK when we used to hang people. I KNOW there are many examples from over in the USA too.

I used to write letters of appeal on behalf of Amnesty - many went to governors over in the States and many came back with some biblical justification ..... The eye for an eye line is not even correct for goodness sake: (even if you do believe in that stuff). It is taken out of contex you see. What the great one was really talking about (if you take the whole quote - and not just the convenient portion) was describing how he/she/ it would judge YOU. Oh yes - and it goes on to say that 'vengence is mine and mine alone'. At the end of the day - vengence is really what the death penalty is all about.

I agree... When murdering for greed becomes acceptable the ultimate judge is going to be very harsh on those responsible.
