Ok, now that Kim massively derailed my thread, time to get back on the topic of Criminal Minds.

There was blood shed on the set of Criminal Minds today, only this time it was behind the scenes.
Sources confirm that producers have opted not to pick up A.J. Cook’s contract option for next season. Which is a fancy way of saying girlfriend was fired.

Meanwhile, fellow cast member Paget Brewster is in talks to remain a series regular, although her episode count is expected to be reduced.

The decision to cut Cook — and cut back Brewster — was made for financial creative reasons. A new actress will be brought in later in the season to fill the void left by Cook.

People there are three things we need to do to save JJ and possibly Prestess. I so far have done two out of the three and will do the third tomorrow.

If each fan does this it might get CBS to change their tune and keep JJ and possibly Prentess. Once they start cutting popular cast members like JJ and Prentess the shows ratings will go in the toilet and the show will only last another season or two.

They should also definitely keep JJ because when Prentess is gone they will be short one profiler and they can make JJ a profiler and the media person. They also talked about her taking a short class in Season two to make her a profiler.

People, please if you love this show like I do, please do all three. Write, mail and call CBS and see if we can pull this off!

Also ask everyone you know who love to show to please do all of the things listed. I have written the emails and Snail Mails, and I will be calling non stop tomorrow until I get through to someone, like a producer or a writer for the show.

UPDATE TUESDAY 11AM: A source close to CBS stressed that the casting changes on Criminal Minds were a creative, not financial decision, and a way to "refresh a veteran drama series." A new regular female cast member will be brought in sometime next season to fill the void that will be left by Cook's departure.

EXCLUSIVE MONDAY 7:50PM: Heading to Season 6, CBS’ successful crime drama Criminal Minds is trimming the female portion of its cast for what I hear are financial reasons. I'm told the option of series regular A.J. Cook has not been picked up and co-star Paget Brewster is being made an offer to stay for only a reduced number of episodes next season, leaving fan favorite Kristen Vangsness as the only remaining full-time female cast member. I hear negotiations are underway with Brewster for a new deal that would keep her on the show. If she agrees, she will continue to be formally a regular but won't appear in every episode. Talks are also ongoing with Cook to possibly appear in several episodes next season to wrap her character Jennifer Jereau’s storyline.

Among the broadcast networks, CBS has been aggressive in trying to rein in series costs, especially on its longer-running, more expensive dramas with large ensemble casts. Criminal Minds has had seven regulars as part of its core cast. Staying on are Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, Matthew Gray Gubler and Vangsness. With the exception of Vangsness’ quirky nerd goddess Penelope Garcia, which has developed a strong following, the series has largely been perceived as a male-centered ensemble, with the boys getting most of the action.

Cook has been on the show since the first episode, joining after the pilot in 2005. Paget Brewster came on board nine episodes into Season 2, replacing original cast member Lola Glaudini. But aside from the Glaudini-Brewster switch and the forced replacement of original lead Mandy Patinkin with Mantegna following Patinkin's abrupt exit after Season 2, the cast on Criminal Minds has been pretty stable, with Gibson, Moor and Vangness all on board since the pilot.

I know Mandy Patinkin left because he thought the show was way to violent, I didn't like his character anyways. Rossi is so much better. Lola lef the show because she hated living in Los Angeles and wante dto move her family back to New York.

There is a reason people like the show and if they start cussing the cast and reducing the costs via special effects, they show will go into the crapper.

3 1/2 days until the season premier!

I was actually thinking it would be cool if they did a cross over with Criminal Minds and NCIS.

Did any of you guys watch the premiere tonight? I loved Tim Curry as the Unsub.

Considering the crossover with NCIS L.A., I'm not sure I see that happening anytime soon.

But one can hope!

I watched. It wasn't bad. Definitely not one of their better ones, though.

Minds also did a cross over with the new series Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior.

No, I thought the ending lacked. It was missing something I just couldn't determine what. Also Reid and Rossi wern't really a big part of it either........

Wednesday is JJ's last episode!

Minds 2.0 starts in January. Beau Garrett is one of the main characters.

I watched the cross over last week and it looks decent with Forrest Whittaker as the lead character and Garcia will be a main character in this one as well.

I hope they have other characters doing a cross over as well.
