no probs there mary they'll just put the price of sheep up Is lamb a very popular meat there? Course I guess a sheep is a sheep and a lamb is a lamb...silly me...Is there lots of sheep herders there like in Ireland? Are they used mainly for their wool or eating too? Are you a rancher of sort? |

I suppose our lamb industry uses corn too in Iowa to feed their stock, but lamb is a bit strong for my taste. My dad, however, loved it with mint jelly. But you are right...very expensive. |

Ray, does you county expect to ask for aid from other counties to help rebuild? I haven't heard much on the news so I am assuming that things are OK in that area. I would doubt any oversaeas help will be forthcoming Mary. The damage is very localised, the CBD of Christchurch & the town centre of Kaiapoi being the worst hit. The actual epi-centre of the event was at Darfield, a rural community with a population of around 300. Generally their buildings were untouched, but they don't have flat land anymore. |
