BSU just beat a ranked team. Last night. well, VT is not what i'm talking about...the BCS always puts an under-achieving teams high up in the rankings...texas and tcu were top ten, and i don't feel either of them deserve it yet... |

BSU has beaten Oklahoma too. And almost every other oppnent they have faced in the last 4 years, including the ranked Oregon ducks, and the ranked Oregon State beavers.

Now just try to convince the BCS.

Fact is, Boise plays in the WAC. Is it their fault? No. But I will guarantee you this. If Boise does go unbeaten this year, all that will happen is that they will get "mentioned" for a title shot.
If Bama and Ohio State go unbeaten, no way Boise jumps one of them to play for the title. If Boise is the lone remaining unbeaten, an 11-1 Bama, OSU, Texas, Miami, Florida, etc would jump them because of the strength of schedule. Is that fair? Well, yes and no. It's fair because, when you break it down, the BCS system does (every year) give us a 1 vs. 2 matchup. It always has. Might not be the 1 vs. 2 that the fans want, but the system does its' job. No matter what anyone says, the system works. Boise did beat Va. Tech. They beat TCU last year. They beat Oklahoma four years ago in the Fiesta Bowl. They beat Oregon last year at home. Impressive? Of course. However. Let us compare other teams against them. Last year, Florida went to LSU and beat the Tigers (when LSU was ranked 4th). Florida beat Arkansas, Georgia, and then killed the Big East champs Cincinnatti in the Sugar Bowl. They lost to the eventual National Champion in Alabama. Florida also beat Kentucky, South Carolina and Florida State.....all of whom went to bowl games. Ok, so in one season....ONE...Florida beat more ranked and bowl bound opponents then Boise beat in...what?....four years? I mean, it doesn't take science to figure out why Boise is not highly thought of. Again, I am not saying it is Boise's fault. What that program has accomplished in the last ten years in amazing. They win....plain and simple. But the negatives they have against them will always be their. And that won't change this year. Then again, maybe things will play out to where it does change. Who knows. |

Here's the thing about the BULL **** COLLEGE STANDINGS.
they are Bull ****! Haven't you ever noticed. That you're watching an SEC game on CBS who they have a cntract with. And then you flip to ESPN to check out other scores during a comercial. Then you see the game you are watching get highlighted. And realize the ESPN has the SEC team you are watching at a Lower rank than CBS has them at. The Big Ten network does it. Fox sports does it, Even Versus does it. There are so many polls out there. That Networks use what ever poll has the teams they are featuring ranked the highest. I saw a preseason poll that had PSU ranked 15 and Pitt ranked 14. This weekend ESPN had PSU at 19 and PITT at 15. Where The Big Ten Network had PSU at 14 and Versus had Pitt at 14. WTF? It's all ratings, and the teams that they fell will get the most ratings will get higher rankings. It's kinda like one of those guys who runs a fantasy football league. Who only uses stats from news sources. That benefit his team over everyone elses. We're all thinking it, THEY NEED A PLAY OFF SYSTEM! |

so close today but i'm still proud of the Hogs.they had the lead but lost it late in the 4th.they just need to learn how to keep it and the receivers seriously need to learn how to catch the damn ball!
only thing i can hope for is it doesn't knock us back too far in the ratings but with Texas also losing, that might help us out it was a hell of a game though! |

The Bama/Arkansas game came down to halftime adjustments, and Bama made them and executed them to perfection. Mallet was taken off his game, but you are right JT. Too many dropped passes from Ark did hurt them.
I just hope Bama's defense is finally here for the 2010 season. Bama has a tough slate of games coming up. Thank God for Mark Ingram though. Say what you want, but that boy good! |
