Ontario, my thoughts on this is your ex and this girl are friends but
not best friends or hang out together all the time. I say do what is in
your heart but also bring up your thoughts of any kind of problems it
could cause with this girl. If she knows your ex then she has already
heard what every your ex thinks of you anyway. At that point anything
said after ya was to start dating would only be said to cause problems
and you would both be walking into it with your eyes open. As for me
when my best friend at the time and her husband divorced he had asked me
out many times but.. I said no due to the friendship damn if I knew I
was gonna be accused of sleeping with him a year later heck I would have
taken him up on it for he was very nice so there goes to being friends
and saying no to one that you would have liked to dated lol. Oh well we
are damned if we do and damned if we don't so do what you feel is right
