It's just a really sad tragedy all around. Benoit was one of my all-time favorite wrestlers...

It's a shame that if it is finally proven that he did this (as there's still some doubt), that this will overshadow the amazing career he had in the ring.

there is only doubt because the cops investigating havent finalized the crime scene results yet.

There is a thing called Roid Rage. It's known to last for moments only. ROID RAGE does NOT last over a three day stretch.

Chris and his wife were having problems with their marriage from day one. They separated once. Speculation is he snapped when he found out she was going to leave him again, this time for real. Most of you may not know that his wife Nancy played a character in wrestling (WCW) called Woman, and was married to Kevin Sullivan when she got together with Chris.

It's been reported that Chris had lost three of his closest friends in the last three years, the most notable one being his best friend Eddie Guererro. He was never the same after this.

Chris was born into a Catholic family but wound up hating religion and stayed away from churches. The bibles near the bodies are somewhat puzzling, but in the bigger image being drawn, starts to make sense. Wrestling may be staged, but the action, though roughly choreopgraphed, is quite real. Injuries occur all the time, mainly concussions. It's possible Chris had an undiagnosed concussion at the time of the murders. This could be the main reason why the tragedy took place: He may have snapped and not been fully aware of all his actions.

The odds are excellent the toxicology reports will show levels of steroids in his system, but ignore the sensationalism of mass media, and remember that use or abuse of 'roids does NOT make a person go on a killing spree over a three day period. If Chris was raging, he would have done everything in a span of 30 minutes....

There's a ton of info on this case all over the place. The most reliable is found here: http://www.wrestletalkradio.com

My 16 year old friend wrote this in her blog,

"I think it's disgusting how he's made out to be a hero. He murdered them. Whether he was on drugs or just crazy does not change the fact that he ended their lives. His son could've changed the wordld. He could've been the one to cure AIDS or any number of things and his life was snuffed out by some idiot badass."

and I agree:heart:

God Bless Chris's family but may that son of a b*tch burn in Hell.

Looking at the date of the most recent post, it's been almost a full month since anyone here has spoken of the Benoit tragedy and the aftermath. Which is exactly why I'm submitting this post.

Things have sadly turned out the way I figured they would. A furor for a couple of weeks. News shows jumping on the story, not for a need to get the facts out, but merely for ratings. When the public's interest began to wane, the news media dropped further plans for follow-ups, and ran straight to the next "event", most likely involving someone named Paris, Brittney, or Lindsay.

And what a short and not-so-sweet media circus we had. "Doctors" who sounded like they'd never seen a medical book in their lives. Attorneys searching to see if there was an ambulance worth chasing here. And the wrestlers, who seemed to fall into four catagories:

1-Current WWE "Superstars"(TM) who lied thru their teeth to score brownie points with the boss, or merely to save their jobs.
2-Wrestlers not employed by WWE lying thru their teeth in hopes of scoring a WWE job, or getting a friend/relative one.
3-Wrestlers not employed by WWE who have "an axe to grind", and are perfectly willing to lie to get back at the company.
4-Wrestlers not employed by WWE (Marc Mero,Charles "Konnan" Ashenoff)who got before the cameras and simply told the truth about the sorry state of Pro Wrestling today.

But now, it's all over. The only place you'll see anything about this is newsletters like the Wrestling Observer. The media and the general public has moved on. Much like the Owen Hart tragedy in 1999, the media ran with it, and got off when there was no mileage left.

So, as far as the WWE is concerned, what have they learned from all this? Apparantly, not a damn thing. The "stars" being pushed the most(John Cena, Bobby Lashley, Batista, The Great Khali)are all generally untalented steroid abusers. If anyone thinks all steroid abusers are over 300 lbs., I present exhibit A:Rey Misterio,Jr. Monday's Raw rating was the worst in the last 10 years. What does WWE think about that? They use ignorant excuses like they always do, such as ,"Well, Triple H isn't back yet".OK, so what happens when HHH returns, and ratings still suck? What then, Vince?

Those who choose to ignore history are forever doomed to repeat it.

Wise words, first spoken quite a long time ago. but, throughout history, no single human being has done more to prove that saying correct than Vince McMahon.

But, then again, why should he worry? Indeed, why should he even care? As far as the media and general public are concerned, the story is over. Nothing happened. Sure, people who hated wrestling to begin with hate it a little more now. But Vince knows those people never watched his shoes, nor bought his PPVs and merchandise. He knows there will always be people watching. As for the ones who's quit watching? New ones'll come along. His wrestlers dying, getting arrested, quitting, getting fired? Vince knows there's a plethora of indy guys(and girls)that would walk thru fire for a shot at the WWE. Lose sponsors? Another will come along. In Vince's mind, all this is nothing but a speed bump on the highway of business.

That's right, folks, when all's said and done, the aftermath is that nothing has really changed.

And that, truly, is the greatest tragedy of all.

Not a Soul can Defend his actions. But I heard that Former Wrestler and Harvard Grad Chris Chris Nowitski Offered to pay to have Benoit`s Head Autopsied by a Separate ME. Anyone whom has ever watched Benoit Wrestle Knows that one of his Finishing Moves is the Flying Head Butt.According to Knowitski the night before he murdered his Wife and Child Benoit performed this Maneuver in a match and instead of catch the guy in the Chest the guy Raised his Knees and caught Benoit dead in the head.Knowitski thanks a Major contributing factor to the murders is that Benoit Was Suffering from a SEVER Concussion.According to Friends and Family Benoit had never shown such Violent tendencies out side the ring.A Concussion can Change you, over the years Benoit has used that Maneuver 100`s of times, And According to Recent Medical Studies on Football Players whom have Received Multiple Concussions can cause Manic Depression over time. Like I said its not Defend able or Understandable But if true Steroids MIGHT NOT have been the cause of his rage. But By to many Concussions.

Random ....

What happened to Chris Benoit was a text book case of Mental roid Rage Break down I was in a thread about a month ago that was locked and deleted because the admitted Steroid users in the thread were there arguing to Me that Steroid use was safe.
We will never really know the true cause about Why he did what He did...Ending Career combined with self security issues etc etc.....He will not be remembered as one of the great wrestlers in history what he will be remembered for is just another athlete that tried to cheat God with Steroid use.

But in the ME report all they found was Therapeutic amounts of Testosterone.(for recovery from Steroid Abuse)Then again there is a Third Option... Steroid Abuse COMBINED with Brain Damage from Multiple Concussions.Could have turned off that lil Voice in his head that said NO.

Food For Thought Anyway...

Hate to say it but his own DR said he Prescribed Chis Testosterone to help Recover from Steroid abuse. An Admitted LOOP HOLE in the WWE Steroid testing policy Recovering Roid Users can use Testosterone. May have said Including Nowitski that Chris was A Good Man........In Normal Times during NORMAL Brain Function he might have been. That last Bump he took to the head...Plus Roid PAST roid Useage....They Say Anyone can be a Killer Givin the Situation. I think that the WWE needs to take there Talents Health More Seriously....I dont care how tough you think you are Brain Tissues is Weak and when he hit that guys knees his Brains we Scrambled.......Chris should have Stopped that Move YEARS ago..its TWICE as Dangerous as the Tombstone that the WWE banned after Owen almost Paralyzed Steve Austin Gus with Helmets (Football Players) Took less damage to them than Benoit did with that Move.Between Roids And Brain Damage a Supposed Good man Went Bad..Sorry but its true

Random,

Benoit was warned years ago about using his diving head-butt from two wrestlers who used it throughout their carrers- Harley Race, and Tom Billington(Dynamite Kid). Kid was Benoit's idol, and the man Benoit patterned his career after.

Much like Eddie Guerreo, Eddie Gilbert, Brian Pillman, and many others, steroid use played SOME role in the deaths-but there was usually abuse of recreational drugs involved also. Mike Hegstrand's(Road Warrior Hawk)death a few years ago showed a combination of steroid and recreational drug use that combined for a massive heart attack. The examination of Hawk's body produced one of the two heaviest enlarged hearts on record(I believe 46 grams weight). Other deaths caused by a steroid/street drug abuse include Rick Rude, Ray(Hercules Hernandez)Fernandez,Ray(Big Bossman)Traylor,Curt(Mr. Perfect)Henning, and countless others. As for examining the brain, experts said that the body was undiscovered too long for a brain study to produce anything conclusive.

Please, everyone, read my previous post. In cases like this, you'd hope it would be a wake-up call for people in this business. Sadly, it seems to be just business as usual, and as I said before, that is the biggest tragedy of all.

I agree would have been much better had he done that.I was just Hypothesizing WHY he did it.A Tragedy like this is Inexcusable.
