Are you concerned what the kids/grandkids think? How do you handle it?

My oldest daughter now 19 who lived with me for a while after she turned 18 is very happy for me since I have found someone special.
My youngest, 17 is not quite as happy...and is not interested in spending too much time with her, (us). But I am sure she will grow and accept it. It's strange for her too. I think she is afraid that she will be left behind maybe.

I think age of Grandkids has alot to do with this.
Mine are to young & never knew Gwen.

Stepdaughter has a problem with me over many issues, nothing I can do.

Son just wants me to be happy, otherwise none of his business.
He never asked me about who he married.

You know...some kids may be capable of dealing with it more than we know. But stability is something we all want. I'm sure they want us to "get it right" this time. Do you agree?

My grandkids ages range from 10 to 17...they think it's cool for me to date someone... the girls want to check him out as soon as possible..the boys just say he'd better be nice to me.. My sons and daughter-in-laws are always giving advice to me about it. They wouldn't care if I had someone in my life at all, they'd be happy for me.

Hummm not sure yet about what my granddaughter will think. Actually she has not seen me with anyone yet whoa they just don't seem to last long enough for me to take them around her. lol As far as my kids they are happy as long as I'm happy...bigsmile

My grandkids are twins 6 years old, a girl and a boy. They like helping me "check him out". My kids on the other hand believe I shouldn't be dating, I don't know what I am doing, I might get hurt. "Hell, those are the reasons I divorced their Dad, he was dating, he didn't know what he was doing, and I got hurt. I'm free to be me!!

Yeah, the grandkids seem to be more in tuned with me.

They're really protective of me, too.

I ran into an old friend the other day who told me
it was his birthday.

My granddaughter who was six years old,
saw him lean over to receive a kiss on the cheek from me.

As she and I walked a way off...
and she felt he was out of hearing range,
whispered to me

"Gran, it probably wasn't really his birthday".whoa

I happened to know it was,

but I smiled at the idea that she felt suspicious.
