Like I said in another thread I'm a huge slasher fan. Mostly because these were the main types of horror films in the theaters when I was a kid in the late 70's early 80's.

My favorites in the series are parts 1 thru 5(yes, I like A New Beginning), but I also liked parts 6 and 7, and Freddy vs Jason was good cheesy fun. I liked the remake more than I thought I would.

I've really been happy with the franchise re release on DVD(though sadly it looks like we'll never see the versions of parts 5 thru 7 with the gore intact)...Nice to finally see Part 3 in 3-D again.

Here's how I rank them(including the remake, and FvsJ):

Friday the 13th '80
Friday the 13th Part 2
Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter
Friday The 13th 3-D
Friday The 13th: A New Beginning
Friday The 13th '09
Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part VI
Freddy vs Jason
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood

And I'll be fine if I never watch Jason X, Jason Takes Manhattan, and Jason Goes To Hell again.

(Mama Voorhees and Jason)

I thought SyFy would show some Friday the 13th episodes. Nope. Just its original scary movies. *Sigh* If I didn't have to work on my day off...I'd watch these movies.

AMC sometimes airs them, but I haven't looked to see if they're airing tonight.

I can't stand watching edited movies on AMC. DVD's make for a good back up:)

I thought besides Part IV. The original was good. Only because of Tom Savini's SPFX Crispin Glover's death in IV was the shizznit:)

I couldn't find just the death scene, this is a collection of Glover's scenes from the movie.

Savini said he agreed to do part 4 because he wanted to kill Jason.

His Name Was Jason is a very entertaining documentary on the Friday The 13th franchise. Hosted by Tom Savini, interviews with cast members, directors, writers, etc...

How I rank them.

1. Friday the 13th (2009)- I love how they made it more sensible for Jason to move around. He used tricks and tunnels and he RAN...now walked...to catch his victims. And, I mean, the dude wiht the line about the chicks breasts being "Magnificent" is classic.

2. Friday the 13th Part 4 (1984)- Jason "supposedly" dies. But hell, you gotta love how he gets it in the end. And Crispin Glover (Marty McFly) gets killed. Total win.

3. Freddy vs. Jason (2003): Simply put, I love how Ronny Yu changed up things and went with a smaller version of Jason (so that Freddy didn't look too much like a dwarf). Still, classic cheesy lines and you gotta love when the two actually do come face to face. And Kelly Rowland gets taken out like a biatch...which was cool.

4. Friday the 13th (1980)- Kevin Bacon gets killed. Nuff said. Classic status was attained.

Jason ran in some of the earlier movies before Jason Lives brought him back as a zombie....Just sayin' Of course, in Jason Takes Manhattan Jason learned the power of teleporting.

The gentleman who played Mark I think was a gay actor who was on the A-list for a while in that section of Hollywood. Sad he died of AIDS way too young.

I love scary movies, but I don't care for slasher films at all. The only gory film I enjoyed really was Cabin Fever. I thought it was hilarious. laugh

I liked the part where Freddy's glove pulls Jason's mask down into hell. Other than that I thought it was a badly done The Hidden rip-off.

Cabin Fever was funny, the sequel was decent(I wish Roth would have been involved) Fun tidbit- Eli Roth does a cameo in 2001 Maniacs as his character Justin from Cabin Fever, Roth's character in Maniacs is on his way to the cabin.

Roth was awesome in Inglorious Basterds until he opened his mouth. Lol
