I don't know anybody who can afford to take EIGHT VACATIONS in 18 months. When will people figure out that TAKING VACATIONS is their JOB ... ?

And what about the TIMING of Mooch-elle's trip ... ? Bo'ROCK had Birthday Nr 49 comin' up ... whussup wit' DAT kinda timing? Did his birthday kinda sneak up on 'em as a surprise ... ? Did they not know it comes once every year ... ? Looks like His Light-Tan-ness has 'Trouble In Paradise'. The economy ain't the only thing he ain't 'takin' care o' bid'ness' with, seemsayin' ...

Yeah, the boy's come a long way from that time in his life when he hadda bum cab fare to get back home after that 2000 Democrat convention thingy ... this is called 'payback', people ...

While many Americans are cutting back on their vacation plans or eliminating them altogether, Barack Obama is setting an aspirational example for all of us. Sure, times are tough, but perhaps we can enjoy a life of leisure vicariously through our betters.

On July 16-18, the Obamas enjoyed their first summer vacation in beautiful Bar Harbor, Maine. The idyllic town has long been favorite summer getaway for the rich and powerful going back to the Gilded Age. Truly a resort fit for a king public servant.

Anticipating exhaustion from two long weeks in Washington, D.C., Michelle Obama is hosting her eldest daughter and several family friends on a "private vacation" to Spain, August 4-8.

Staying at the luxurious Villa Padierna, Americans can rest easy knowing the accomodations will "pamper guests with elegance, spaciousness and a comforting array of amenities." With three golf courses on the property, it's quite a shame Barack must attend a party thrown in his honor by one of his billionaire friends. Despite this hardship, I'm sure Michelle will sing "Don't Cry for Me, America". Or at least hum a few bars. (After the spa's Chakra Balancing treatment with Hot Stones.)

The five days back in the White House will be a horrible burden to the family. Thankfully, the Obama clan will take a third vacation, Aug. 14-15, to Florida's Gulf Coast, following charges of hypocrisy for vacationing in Maine earlier.

As any PR pro will tell you, the best response to "out of touch" accusations is to face them head on. Preferably from a balcony, sipping a mojito while watching Helios' golden rays paint the beach in myriad shades of gold as the fiery orb slips 'neath the azure horizon.

But if the Obamas are anything like me (and it sure seems that way!), sometimes they feel more tired after a vacation than before it. Luckily for all of us, the family will take a fourth vacation, Aug. 19-29, in exclusive Martha's Vineyard. It's about time that poor man got a little R and R.

He works so hard, he needs his time off to relax and unwind.

All that campainin' wears a feller out.

And just think. When we are finally rid of him, he'll still be on th' welfare fo' life.

seriously,, during the summer, my parents took two or three vacations as well and they werent the one or two day trips over the weekend that yall are counting as such excessive leisure time,,,,,,and they werent anywhere near the income bracket of the obamas BEFORE They became the first family


hell , for that matter, my previous boss took an easy seven or eight 'vacations' per year if you count EVERY TIME he left the state as a vacation,,,lol

yeah its true, not everyone has to spend their weekends hanging around their house or their town,,,even in these economic times some people have planned and had the good fortune to still be alright,,,

This arsehole set a record in vacation days. Were the RW'er complaining then? Plus Obama is not running for office again until 2012 so what's the beef? No, dear girl ... you again miss the POINT ... they're taking FOUR VACATIONS in ONE MONTH ... and you don't find that a bit EXCESSIVE ... ? Taking vacations IS their 'job' now ... THAT's what 'hope' and 'change' was all about - it's all about THEM - not about the country ...

weekend vacations are not excessive, weekends are times to relax

Considering that the OP is not accurate. I can't comment on the trips abroad for the president.

It's a good thing I have PLENTY of cheese ... looks like the usual party crowd's showin' up ... I haven't heard that familiar whine of 'RAYciss!' yet, but I know it's lurkin' out there ...

I'm not a GW fan, but on a lot of those trips, he was working at his ranch. and he wasn't gallivanting around spending money, he was wasting it(money) on the wars he started. and i don't remember Laura(sweetheart) running of to other countries all the time either.

Obviously people weren't paying attention when GW was in office then.
