Topic: Wrong Era | |

Have you ever thought that you were born in the wrong Era? The wrong space of time?
Like me. I believe that I would have been happier being able to go see Patsy Cline,Richie valance, Roy Acuff, Hank Williams Sr. In person. Things seem to have been much simpler back then. People were more honest back then. You could go to the market, and wouldn't have to worry about if you left your door unlocked or not. Where your word, or your hand shake was your bond. |

The 30's,50's and 60's for me.
30's for fashion, etiquette (people dressed for dinner even if it was only a family meal at home) 50's for good music 60's also for the music (and some honesty amongst folk still prevailed) children were aware of the proceeds of a sound education and were ambitious enough to learn a skill. |

I wouldnt have wanted to live prior to the seventies because of jim crow and segregation, but if I could have stayed in the seventies,, when people were just starting to experience some equality and still felt hopeful and motivated and were still community based,,,,
that would have been nice,,, |

I would've loved to have lived back in the late 1800's, when a man could make a living just by working hard. Now, it seems like it's all about who you know and who you're willing to do favors for. Everything about modern life just seems dishonest and fruitless. The harder you work, the more gets taken from you.

I think it would have been cool to have been living with Polynesian island hoppers, back around 3000 BC.

Loved the 60's. It was where I belonged. Even when I went into the military in 1969, I belonged there also.....But I am a strange one...
