Clubbing? Writing? Writing about clubs? Clubbing writers?

Sudoku? Knitting? Cooking? Web design? Sewing? Welding?

It just depends what you're into, how many people you want involved, and how much time you want to devote to it.

Reading is always good, libraries don't cost a thing if you get the books back on time.

I like to garden, but it's a little late in the season for that.

I find saying outrageous things in forum threads to be a cheap form of entertainment.

If you live close to a place you can do it, hiking is always good for eating time.

People watching is sometimes interesting.

Learn to master some dish in a cookbook. You've got to eat anyway, just the first couple of tries will really be awful. (Seems they always leave out a few steps when they write those)

Sidewalk chalk art.

Do you like to read? There's an endless supply of great books out there to read.

There are some good drawing instructional books if you'd like to learn to draw. That's a good skill because then you can sit outside and draw trees or birds.

Cooking is a blast as is baking. Check out cookbooks from the library though...don't buy them. You'll usually only find one or two recipes in each book that you like.

Scrapbooking can get pretty expensive, but it's a great hobby. I did it for a couple of years and I love my albums.

Cross stitch and knitting are good. I never learned to knit but I've made some nice cross stitch pieces.

Hiking and Yoga are two of my favorite exercise hobbies. But, there's all kinds of activities like bike riding and swimming. You can even get competitive with them like my sister. She signs up for various runs and triathalons. I trained for the LA Marathon for a year and I really enjoyed that.

Study art history and try going to every museum that you can get to. Most are pretty low cost to get into.
