so they should ok because they forgot? well, geez, officer, i forgot that murder was against the law...i forgot that i am here illegally, and didn't do what i was supposed to to stay legal... forgetting/not remembering is not an excuse. we have to obey the laws, so do they.

who forgets murder is against the law,, ???

in any case, forgetting a date is a much different thing than just NEGLECTING to take proper action at all

I know my parents have driven a day or two on expired plates because they forgot about the date,, are they guilty of the SAME offens as someone who is driving a car with NO PLATES?

I dont think the law would see it that way,,,

i don't know, but it's not up to us to interpret whats should be a better or easier sentence. that's what judges are for. you voted for who wanted as a judge, so they interpret what they think is right. we just have to follow the laws.

no disagreement about following laws. I just believe the penalty for one type of accidental offense should not be the same as that for an intentional offense. Kind of like hitting someone with a car that has faulty brakes, or just blatantly running them over(accelerating),, same end, but different reasons.
