Darth Vader robs bank; suspect uses gun - not The Force - in robbery

SETAUKET, N.Y. (CBS/AP) Darth Vader has apparently downgraded from destroying planets - now he's just robbing banks.



Police say a man in a Darth Vader mask entered a Chase bank branch on Long Island on Thursday, displayed a gun and demanded money.

A surveillance camera caught the "Star Wars" character out of his usual all-black ensemble - he was wearing a blue cape and camouflage pants.

The Dark Lord escaped from the Setauket bank with an undetermined amount of cash.

The robbery comes about a week after another bank robber, dubbed the "Bouquet Bandit," held up a Manhattan bank.

Authorities say Edward Pemberton used a flower bouquet to conceal a note demanding cash during a $440 bank heist July 15. They say he used a potted plant as a similar prop in a holdup at another bank earlier this month.

Apparently, the force was not strong with Pemberton. He was arrested Wednesday at a Brooklyn home where he was hiding in a closet, according to police.

Darth Vader, however, is still on the loose.

and now for a laugh, guns are illegal in NY so does that stop gun related crime?

he broke the law by having a gun then... but didn't congress say it was unconstitutional by banning guns?

in texas, guns are legal, but if you commit a crime with a gun, you get 25 years just for using the gun, on top of any other sentence.
