So sad.
After they have been on Unemployment for their allotted period, Unemployment Insurance becomes Welfare Workin' folks have to keep shelling out for those who continue to not have to look for jobs. Yes, I realize there are some who don't like it and are out searching and taking what they can get. I'm speaking about the ones who know the Politicians will keep them on the Unemployment Welfare. If they were put on notice, there was no more, they just might get a little more gumption to get off their couches and get back out their. Here's a letter from a 63 year old Vietnam Vet. "I'm 63 and Im Tired" I'm 63. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired. I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it. I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money. I'm tired of being told how bad America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the economy of Zimbabwe , the freedom of the press of China , the crime and violence of Mexico , the tolerance for Christian people of Iran , and the freedom of speech of Venezuela . I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to. I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U.S. Senators from Illinois. I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government. I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful; that thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress; that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his; that slammed Palin, with two years as governor, for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever. Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004. I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance. I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough. (Continued next post) |

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.
I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next? Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"? And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.... Those are the citizens we need. I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are? Not even close. So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims, who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear. I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. I live in Illinois , where the "Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet. I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor. Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing. I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems. Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter. Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate. |

Ain't it a wunnaful country that can keep increasing and extending unemployment checks while at the same time keep cutting back on social security payments to those who've reached the age of retirement ... ? I really don't wanna hear about how tough these effin' people have it ... when did it become fashionable for 'unemployment' to be a lifestyle choice ... ?

Now we have 'generational welfare' families that are on the dole from one generation to the next ... some are now going into their FOURTH generation of welfare dependency. Proud of that? The unemployment situation (intentional by design) is only a different mechanism for establishing even MORE control over the life of the sheeple who believe government is there to 'help' them. BS. Government only helps ITSELF. The OLD method of helping people deal with unemployment (back when we had a REAL economy with REAL jobs) was to provide assistance BETWEEN JOBS for no more than TWENTY-SIX WEEKS. Now we have 'assistance' extending out to NINETY-NINE weeks. Don't worry - it'll be extended again when the most recent extension expires. It'll be the same pitch, too - 'We can't let those poor people starve!' or some similar BS ... The 'appeal to ignorance' always works with folks who lack the ability to critically assess reality. The reality in this latest extension is that government sees unemployment as one more lever to make people DEPENDENT on IT rather than SELF-RELIANT. 'Government' has successfully destroyed our former economy by imposing a Communist 'command-and-control' regime on our financial abilities. Capitalism has been replaced by 'feelings' and 'sensitivity' to 'people's needs' ... BS. 'Touchy-feely' / 'warm-'n-sensitive' doesn't get the job done and it doesn't offer ANYONE a job because NO ONE was ever hired by a POOR PERSON. Poor people don't take risks. Poor people don't start companies. Poor people do not employ anyone. Poor people look to the Government for 'help'. THAT, like it or not, is the scenario being played out by the Barackracy. |

" Right on one count only ... I am NOT looking for a job while trying to support a family in this 'economy' ... and I'm damned glad I'm not. I'm retired. I put in my time and now I'm getting the meager 'benefits' offered by SS while I can before the Barackracy bankrupts that, too - the way they did Medicare by transferring $500 BILLION of its funding to MEDICAID ... that's outright THEFT. But I digest ... There were two times in my life when I had to be on unemployment assistance. Did I like it? No. Did I want to find a real job? Yes. Both times, I did. I was able to because we still had something we used to call the 'FREE MARKET' instead of a COMMAND-AND-CONTROL economy. When GOVERNMENT decides which business will succeed and which will fail, the free market is, for all practical purposes, dead. GOVERNMENT decides who succeeds - or not. Defend that if you can. It's the current operational reality in this country under the DemoCommunist 'party'. If you're trying to raise a family in this 'economy' under the tender mercies of 'The UN' and his psychophants, I feel sorry for you. But I didn't vote for him, and I still have to live with the consequences of people who were stupid enough to believe him and give him the power of the Big Boy chair. I can't really feel all that sorry for reality catchin' up to the falsehoods he offered with all that 'Hopey - McChangey' stuff he sold like so much snake oil. Elections. Have. Consequences. |

I'm tired of paying into Social Security when there won't be any to sustain me or my sons. I think we should all stop because what the people collecting now are getting wasn't what they were expected to get but those Democrats just keep giving them raises and now there wlil be none for me. Years ago people worked til they died. Let's go back to that system.
Sorry Kings__Knight but I think you should start looking cause you are not eligible for that unemployment. Just another way of looking at things |

Yes. I agree cut out this unemployment crap. Let families loose there homes and be on the streets hungry. Screw them. I say lets make them so desperate that they have to steal to feed there families. Makes perfect sense. Meanwhile we spend billions to help save the rest of the world. Screw our own citizens when times are bad. Genious.........

That, folks, is more than 'Hope 'n Change' - it's an AUTOMATIC TAX INCREASE. Obama owns it. Say 'thank you'. |

Sorry Kings__Knight but I think you should start looking cause you are not eligible for that unemployment. ..." Well, bebbykeks, BUSH offered the American people the OPPORTUNITY to GET AWAY from Social Security by PRIVATIZING ten percent of the amount they put into it - but the sheeple, in their collectivist 'GIMME!' wisdom, said 'NO!' ... They HAD the chance - and they BLEW IT. Sorry you're all upset about me getting Social Security and see it as me taking away from YOUR retirement, but bebbykeks, that ain't the way it is ... I have OTHER resources in addition to SS. So could you - and every OTHER person in this country - IF the GOVERNMENT weren't so damned hell-bent on REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH. That means YOUR money is gonna go to some ILLEGAL to preserve the DemoCom voting block in perpetuity - it also means you're screwed when it comes to keeping what you worked to earn. Get used to it. It's 'Hope 'n Change' ... feel better now ... ? |

I feel great! I can't wait until November when the Republicans are in control and then everything will be good. We will all have jobs, be able to pay our mortgages and go to the doctor. Life will be wonderful. And in 2 years when we vote in a Republican President then there will be no more terrorism and the world will be at peace.
Mr Obama and his evil ways will go away and all will be right with the world. See I have been paying attention and being the airhead blonde I am, you have convinced me. Thank you O Wise One! |

I am officially registered as a NON-AFFILIATED INDEPENDENT voter. I can criticize ALL parties equally. I vote PRINCIPLES, not 'party'. 'Party' politics are what got us in the effed-up mess we're in. However, if you choose to direct your venom against me as an individual 'cuz somehow it makes you feel all 'warm 'n fuzzy', go 'head on, girl. I'm a big boy. Been hit up by worse than you can do. Obama - despite your (and others) state of rapture over his ensconcement in the Oval Orifice - is the architect of the problems this nation is currently experiencing. Name one OTHER president who NATIONALIZED our auto industry, who OWNS Wall Street, who PROTECTS his Union thug supporters with things like 'observance' of the Jones Act to keep foreign-flagged vessels trying to help clean up an oil spill OUT of the Gulf of Mexico ... There's lots more on the list, so if you want, I'll be happy to make it a lot longer for you to read - but, it wouldn't make any difference. You're mad 'cuz I and others like me are taking 'YOUR' money ... which, by extension, makes you an Obama supporter - and, by further extension, a redistributionist. Dang - it's no wonder we don't see things the same way ... too bad. |

Life will be wonderful. And in 2 years when we vote in a Republican President then there will be no more terrorism and the world will be at peace. Mr Obama and his evil ways will go away and all will be right with the world. See I have been paying attention and being the airhead blonde I am, you have convinced me. Thank you O Wise One! lol,, u go girl,, I think I love you (virtually, that is)....lol All tongue in cheek msharmony. It all comes down to the fact that no one has the answers and no matter who is in office the problems are not going to be easily fixed so let's stop complaining oh, I know, I agree, thanx for your lighthearted contribution to the threads,,, ![]() |
