i do not think u even have to take a stance, religion, spiritual or not to see the Blessing of forgiveness to all involved.

This does not mean that it is an instant thing that happens.

To some.. They are a very special kind of people who in the mist of a tradegy forgive whoever they need to.

Reminds me of the Amish in I believe Lancastor penn. that went to the shooters family to see if they could help them. Not caring about the world but having such a deep faith and knowledge that thier hatred will eat u up and really serves no porpose. Now some will say Yahweh hates but i believe u will find it speaks of a completely different hatred than we experience.

The Amish showed a faith and love seldom see and it is very hard to argue with nomatter what u believe.

How do u deal with forgiveness? Can u forgive anything and does that mean forget also? Blessings of Shalom...Milesflowerforyou

great post. I do believe it is possible to forgive anything, although not easy. Sometimes I hear some incredible stories about this. I would like to think I an capable of forgiving anything; but I would rather not be in that type of a position in the first place....

I do believe that forgiving quickly is key to protecting one's heart against bitterness and strife which, when they take root, not only begin to eat away at the person harboring the bitterness, but actually affects people in that person's sphere. It's never pleasant to have to be around a person with a bitter heart. You can sense it and it can even affect your own heart and attitude if you're around it long enough.

Yes i can usually, not saying i'm perfect and don't fail at this time to time. But i do for a couple reasons.

1. God has told us to fogive others as he forgive us.
2. Forgiving someone takes that resentment off your shoulders and lightens your load in life.

I have never had much need to forgive anyone for anything. Few people have done me wrong on purpose. And those who have I have not held hostile feelings toward.

However, when you speak about 'forgetting' I'm not so sure. If someone does me wrong intentionally, and does not even remotely show remorse or acknowledgement of their actions, I would perfer to simply not be around that person. I would basically try to avoid them as much as possible.

There would be no hostile feelings toward them coming from me. May they have the best life possible. Just do it away from me.

That's my feelings on that. I don't like being abused over and over again. To allow that would just be stupidity on my part I think.

So forgiveness, yes.

Forget? Maybe not. Why put your hand in a hot stove multiple times?
