The current Regime continues to persist in its war against America by allowing illegal aliens to cross the border unmolested, so they may thrive in lawless activities, such as raping US citizens and attacking US Border Patrol officers, and eventually obtain citizenship through mass Amnesty, aka, “Comprehensive Immigration Reform.”

1,200 troops is token. A no impact action.

They will probably be placed in areas where there is little to no Illegal or drug action.

There is 1,954 miles of total border.

There is no way 1.200 NG can effectively guard that much border.

"The head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Monday said immigration officials are working closely with Mexican authorities to investigate a series of stunning attacks in Mexico including a car bomb in the border city of Juarez that has drawn comparisons to Middle Eastern terrorism.

While the Obama administration rolls out its plan to deploy 1,200 National Guard and other assets to the southwestern border, the violence in northern Mexico has only escalated in recent weeks.

Eighteen people were massacred at a party in the city of Torreon on Sunday — more than a month after 19 people were killed at a drug-rehab center in Chihuahua. In the border city of Juarez, where more than 1,500 have been killed this year, a car bomb apparently designed to lure police to the scene killed three people on Thursday.

“The incident in Juarez . . . is one of great concern to both governments,” CBP Commissioner Alan Bersin said Monday.

The use of a car bomb would mark a new tactic for the cartels in the war against the state that has played out in full force since President Felipe Calderon confronted them after taking office in 2006. According to reports, the device was remotely detonated in a way similar to the detonation of IEDs in the Middle East.

So are you advocating sending a large number of troops into Mexico?

The US Border has approximately 21,000 border patrol agents. The NG that OBama committed to was the number REQUESTED by the states.

I advocate an Invasion of Mexico becasue Federales have been caught on this side of the boarder repeatedly supporting drug smugglers using military assets.

I am talking WHOLESALE invasion of Mexico. Time to show those drug lords what a real war is all about. We should order them to kill any one and everyone there with the number 13 tattooed on them for any reason for starters! Kill all the enemy combatants we can easily identify first, then move on to the rest.

They are not going to get a handle on their problems! They won't do it and can't do it. That means we WE have to fix yet another fuqued up country who can't fix themselves.

If Mexico is so great why do they keep sneaking over here?

So are you advocating sending a large number of troops into Mexico?

For starters, they're not going "into" Mexico.

Secondly, they will have to do guarding in shifts. One guard can't be expected to stand 24/7. That's a minimum of three guards per post. Still, they will need to be given breaks. They can't be expected to be there an entire year without a break.

1,200 divided by three = 400 posts that can be guarded. Effective LPs and visual posts shouldn't be more than a couple miles apart except, in a case where there are high elevations that would give them better visual points.

So, approximately 200 miles of border will be "protected".

I see that action as token and I don't believe DC stating that was all the NG troops asked for. They've been known to lie for political positioning.
