OBAMA'S HIGHS AND LOWS
■ Passing the stimulus package to inject massive amounts of government spending into the economy was hailed as a triumph. ■ Obama promised to close Guantanamo Bay within a year of taking office but has been unable to do so. ■ The president vowed to pass healthcare reform and, though the legislation was greatly watered down, he did finally win victory over vehement opposition. ■ Obama ill-advisedly weighed into a racial spat caused by the arrest of black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates by a white police officer. ■ The BP oil slick in the Gulf dealt a devastating blow to the image of White House competence as Obama appeared slow to realise the severity of the disaster. ■ Last month the president sacked General Stanley McChrystal, the top US commander in Afghanistan. The popular general made outspoken attacks on the White House to a reporter from Rolling Stone magazine and had to go for reasons of "national security". ■ Reform has finally been successfully passed which aims to curb the excesses of Wall Street and reverse a long-term trend towards deregulation that is blamed for the financial crisis. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jul/18/barack-obama-david-cameron |

If you really wanna blame BP on Obama, should we chat about New Orleans/Katrina and Mr. Bush? Do you really wanna go there? Should we talk about Bush's legacy with Guantanamo Bay? Oh yeah ... we can go there ... bring it. |

If you really wanna blame BP on Obama, should we chat about New Orleans/Katrina and Mr. Bush? Do you really wanna go there? Should we talk about Bush's legacy with Guantanamo Bay? at least the OP did include positves as well as negatives,, a nice balance for a change I will add *Didnt end no bid contracts *Didnt allow 5 days public comment before signing bills *didnt support a mission to the moon *Didnt negotiate healthcare on CSpan * Did establish credit card bill of rights * Did Order the end to the War in Iraq while sending more troops to Afghanistan * Did negotiate with Russia to reduce nuclear Arms * Did establish 'promise neighborhoods' (aiding children in high poverty/high crime areas get to college) ,,,thats my BALANCE of info for the day,, four 'failures' and four 'successes' |

If you really wanna blame BP on Obama, should we chat about New Orleans/Katrina and Mr. Bush? Do you really wanna go there? Should we talk about Bush's legacy with Guantanamo Bay? he didn't blame anyone for anything... he just copied and pasted... and if you read the column(The BP oil slick in the Gulf dealt a devastating blow to the image of White House competence as Obama appeared slow to realise the severity of the disaster.)nobody was doing any blaming, they were "appearing". |

he also changed the banking industry to where they can't charge the silly overdraft fees on debit cards, and decided to give NASA billions of dollars to promote more shuttle missions, and put some astronauts on an asteroid.
