California. Earthquake. Go figure ...

Does this mean no sympathy for earthquake victims who live in regions known for such natural disasters? We deserve what we get?
I guess so.

My sister lives in Laguna Niguel ... she said it wasn't a big deal. We talked tonight ...

Who's gonna feel sorry for us in the New Madrid zone when THAT one goes ... again ... ?

We are lucky, this time, here.
Will someone say "oh, too bad" if New Madrid zone experiences a (another) huge one? Did they say so before? Hence, the bitterness? Does that make it a correct response?

To be fair, we have yet to fall victim to grave disaster to see who helps, and who does not. I am not looking forward to that day.

Who's bitter? Lighten up a little, okay ... ? JeezUS. You didn't seem all that worried when you posted this in another thread:

" ,,, I didn`t feel it, I`m in L.A. county. Nobody but Cali ppl take notice of our earthquakes, I guess I wouldn`t either, if I lived out of state. All the seismic activity going on everywhere has got me a little nervous. ... "

CA and the New Madrid zone are BOTH seismically active locations. Why should ANYone be surprised when they go off ... ? The only reason they're 'news' is because PEOPLE live in 'em. If they were only inhabited by wild horses and iguanas, who'd give a rat's asss ...? Nobody ... and that's the point. If it goes off, it goes off - and y' better not be waiting on the 'government' for help, either ...

Yep, it was a very gentle, but long rolling one here in Palmdale.

That`s true, I didn`t feel it. Still, it`s not fun to think of next time. Maybe we`ll just have tiny tremor after tremor. I hope so.

well ... you should actually hope you have a bunch more at that low a magnitude ..so you don't have to worry about the big one that is coming to the West coast.

They had one close to Ottawa in Quebec that was almost that big a couple of weeks ago.
