No, it's just a plane. Any good fireworks around you tonight? My neighbor managed to get the ones that are not sold here. Otherwise the town did it last night. |

The guy around the block from Mom had some really nice ones. We sat out on her patio and had a cup of tea and some cherry jello with whipped cream and blueberries on it, and just watched over the house. They were exploding right over our heads.

Yes the roof almost caught fire One of the downsides of the 4th, not to mention all the poor critters running for their lives. some getting hit by vehicles |

I've been hearing em for days, driving me crazy. Some neighbors are out in the cul de sac right now doing them.
My town had their official celebration yesterday/last night. They don't do such things on Sunday's. Probably more festivities tomorrow.. |

I don't get the whole blowing things up and making noise deal. In my opinion, it's simply widespread animal abuse |

This is the beach behind my house.
They just finished the 4th of July fireworks show there. They shoot them from where you see the sun setting, toward my side of the bay. Can't get any closer. Lots of new stuff this year, and it dragged on FOREVER :-) |

I just got home. 11:30 PM for me Pacific Standard time. Fireworks? HELL YES!
I staked out a parking spot at Angle Gate Park about 4:00 pm and thank god I did. Angel Gate Park has a command view of the coastline for Long Beach on past Huntington beach. They park a barge loaded with Fireworks in the harbor as well. It was a horizon of Fireworks! Not just one show but ALL of them! Next year I am staking out a spot where I can see both coastlines! I know of a spot on the east face of Palos Verdes but I have to find it again. It has a command view of the whole Los Angeles basin! Next year I will bring my camcorder! It was a hell of a view! The place was packed with people who likewise know of the awesomeness of the spectacle! The Korean Friendship Bell is the thing Angel Gate park is known for. Fort MacArthur is part of the park as well. The harbor is to the left of the picture. To the right is Catalina Island and the rest of the Pacific Ocean! |

P.S. This is where I fly my kite too!

I am a quintessential 4th of July Scrooge- no fireworks & I couldn't care less

Yeah, really great pyro techs!
I meet some friends at Chevy's (is that nationwide?) on the river - restaurant row actually - and killed a couple of pitchers of margaritas and saw sky rockets in flight! |
