Actually.. Bleach and Full Metal are Anime (or "Japanese animation")They have conventions where people dress up as their favorite character from it and add on the Asian culture side of it. loads of fun, and just a FYI thing. I don't watch them as much as i'd like, especially since i gave up tv.
Nice... going for the classics i see, newarkjw? I love 60's and 70's cartoons, have and will always love Scooby Doo. (original.. remakes and movies ruined everything it stood for! >o>; I'm done now...) |

I love me some anime, but I don't really like the shows that are on Cartoon Network right now outside of Cowboy Bebop. Some of my favorites are any of the Gundam series, Robotech, Shin Chan, Ping Pong Club, Paranoia Agent, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Outlaw Star.
South Park and Futurama for the non-anime of course! Got tired of the Simpsons years ago and Family Guy is getting stale to me now too. Actually I think about 75% of everything I watch is animated, lol. And I almost went to AKON here in Dallas a few years ago but the person I was going with couldn't go at the last minute. I don't do the dress up thing but it would've been fun to go anyways. |

Sweet, another anime fan! I miss the old(er) animes, back in the late 90's and 2k's. Rurouni Kenshin, OutLaw Star, ect. Now it's like the same old tune..
It may be worth it to check out a con somtime, always a fun time. Just do me a favor and don't watch fansubs. :s (online anime is part of why Geneon died. people watch the anime, then decide they don't want to buy it, since they've seen it, and yeah..) Anywho.. |

i like the older ones too, pink panther and tom & jerry, and my kids can't stop watching spongebob, which i think is a good toon also. but the saturday night lineup on toon, i just can't stop watching them. thnx yall

Well, they might be considered animated TV shows, but I love the Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park. However, I also have the Looney Tunes Collecters six dvd set. (unedited at that!!)

Oh they took out all those things where direct violence was shown (at least the last time I saw them on regular tv).
For example any time you heard them say "Now I've seen everything" and the put a gun to there head and pulled the trigger. Gone Wiley Coyote being actually hit with an anvil, gone. You only knew it happened and saw the aftermath, the actual scene was gone. They even cut the scene in the "Blue Danube Waltz" section of "Corny Concerto" where Daffy turns into a P-51 and shoots at the birds of prey. Just a few. |

So, they got chopped up "for the children." Those of us that are older remember that the original purpose of the WB cartoons was as filler before the movies. Back when a ticket to the movies was good all day. |
