how is that a double standard,, one is a list of NAMES which are supposedly compiled by actual information about those names on the list

and the other is requiring an officer to interrogate a person that they have NO information about,,,,,based upon some unknown criteria(which could indeed be racial)

ok, i get it now... so the 6 yr old is a terrorist, or has terrorist ties... thnx for clearing that up for me...spock

the "unknown" criteria is in the state of texas, illegals cannot have a drivers license. so if a cop pulls some one over and they have no dl, no insurance, no id... he shouldn't ask them if they belong in this country? who's rights are being violated?

they should absolutely have to produce the SAME documents anyone else has to submit,,, if you are saying to me , that IF a driver does not have a drivers license, they will be asked to prove their legal status(regardless of their race) , I would say it isnt profiling

my understanding was that passengers would also be conditioned to be 'suspected' of being illegal,,,, and last I checked passengers arent required to carry identification or be detained for not having it

What does that have to do with her being on the no fly list?

well , the analogy went like this

one person compared the violation of rights of this girl to profiling of illegal immigrants in Arizona

I was clearing up the difference between physically profiling people and gathering information on a computer about people to determine their 'potential risk'

A double standard is a double standard... they enforce some laws very STUPIDLY, while other laws they STUPIDLY do not enforce... A law is a law, they should all be enforced or taken off the books.
