Topic: Bush did better than Obama, poll shows | |

someone please explain to me. how an oil spill. is anything close to the people who died in new Orleans hurricane. unless your saying money is more important then a human life. that was my question too,, but I think you are hitting the nail on the head,,,,economically speaking and environmentally, the effects will be awful,,,,its whether we look at the long term environment as more or less or equally significant as the CURRENT human life OBama is in a sticky situation, because SO much needed fixing when he took the job(and he took it knowing this) that whatever doesn't get fixed will be on his shoulders,,,,whereas there wasnt MUCH Bush had to do but Maintain what was already happening,, with the exception of 9/11 so now people look at this president to fix the economy, educational and health systems, the immigration problems, international relations, and now this environmental accident as well,,,,I dont envy him, but I do respect him for dealing with it and moving forward all while remaining a respectful man and father and husband,,, Excuse me? Every Presidential in history has been handed debts and issues from previous bullsh*t.......don't blame Bush or Obama, nor any individual....blame the parties...that's right folks both parties...we as a people seem to keep re-electing into office. I would dare to say it is the American people's fault for becoming complacent and accepting what is given to us. Go ahead blame the government....but truthfully get off the parties high horses and do something about it yourselves.....question is would you be willing to go out on a limb and vote for someone other than Republican or Democrat?? I think not because Americans have become a bunch of camplacent pu ss ies!!! JMO I disagree. To the extent that our economy was in a downfall and we were in two wars, and the immigration problems were at a point of explosion ,,,every president didnt come into office with challenges of that degree.... I dont blame Presidents, our government is supposed to work together on these things, I was just pointing out that pundits have alot MORE to point fingers at this president about because he had SO many issues that needed to be handled when he came in,,, |

I agree with one addition, I do not remember a time when lack of values and respect was such a cool and tolerable thing,,when disregard for human life was so DEEPLY ingrained in the culture, or when SO MANY children were raising themselves or being raised by a culture of sex and violence....or when there was SUCH a grey area between right or wrong, male or female, mother or father,,,,,I dont remember a time when things were THIS mixed up and chaotic,,,for the sake of keeping everyone happy and catering to every belief and every lifestyle choice,,,, stigma served a purpose and generation after generation stigma itself has become stigmatized and nearly done away with,,,everyone does what they want, how they want , with whom they want and people stil expect some order without creating any. Id love to keep my door open to everyone, but the truth is that our culture has become greedier and its become more acceptable for people to get ahead and have material things at any cost, and its become more acceptible to view YOUNG people sexually.....to the point that as a mother I absolutely CANNOT afford to just have an open door policy for anyone who wishes to enter my home. |

On that note the Dems had control the last two years of the Bush Presidency(That's when things went bad) not to mention the mess he was left from Clinton.
Hell Clinton left a mess, but didn't leave the White House Silverware! |

Hell Clinton left a mess, but didn't leave the White House Silverware! what mess? Let's see, Bin Laden, AQ, Taliban, distrust for government and definately not a balanced budget or reduced deficet. |

Yes and AQ. Bill Clinton really dropped the ball on Bin Laden and the while AQ situation. He could have prevented 9/11 al together but he was to chicken to give the order. |

umm.. you should take your own poll... ask 300 democrats how obama is doing, then ask 300 republicans how he's doing... anyone can make the point they are trying to make by who they ask and what they ask...

Each time, the president approves an attack. Each time, the CIA Director says the information is not reliable enough and the attack cannot go forward. [New York Times, 12/30/01, more] |

Let's see, Bin Laden, AQ, Taliban, distrust for government and definately not a balanced budget or reduced deficet. interesting, you believe these things were WORSE when he left than when he came in,,,? the deficit? really? You should look up someone(I know rather well actually). Lt. Colonel Buzz Patterson USAF. LTC. Patterson was an experienced combat pilot of over 20 years. He was also the Senior Military Advisor to President Bill Clinton. He also carried the Nuclear Football at various times for the President. He has talked about on several occasions how Bill Clinton dropped the ball on Bin Laden when there were people in place to take him out. I remember him talking about one of those times when President Clinton while playing golf got word that he was at a specific camp in Afganistan and could be taken out. Clinton didn't even pause his game and said no. He also is a best selling author. His books are....... Dereliction of Duty: The Eyewitness Account of How Bill Clinton Compromised America's National Security (Regnery Publishing, 2003) Reckless Disregard: How Liberal Democrats Undermine Our Military, Endanger Our Soldiers, and Jeopardize Our National Security (Regnery Publishing, 2004) War Crimes: The Left's Campaign to Destroy the Military and Lose the War on Terror Heres another fun fact. He was a lifelong Democrat until he saw first hand how the Clinton's and the Gore's treated the military and the crap they pulled. It is also good to mention that he was awarded two of the top medals in the USAF by President Clinton. Defense Superior Service Medal, for accomplishments while at the White House Air Medal, for flying fifteen combat and support missions into Sarajevo |

your acquaintance must not have been with the president 24-7 ,, or at least not on these three pretty important occasions

Actually, if you compare the buying power of the dollar in real terms (against gold), he's right that Clinton made things worse. His stupid interventionism also set the stage for future conflicts. |

I should expect such farcical "analysis" from Fed lackies like Bernanke, but not real people like you! You should know better! Msharmony, I suggest you pick up a book on free market economics. "Economics in one Lesson" by Harry Browne is a good start. |

[New York Times, 12/30/01, more] That is not correct. Clinton did not approve an order to capture or kill Bin Laden until 2000 when he was about to leave office and it was to late. There were several times the CIA's SAD had Bin Laden withing their scopes or verified he was in a certain building of one of the camps and could have taken him out with something simular to an RPG but Clinton wouldn't give the order until after the USS Cole was attacked in 2000. |
