So....Do you know what that is? Have you been one of those?
Or have you seen it? Basically someone only being with someone else on either just a date or believing to be "together" with a "significant one" for the reason to show off. Show off at parties and various places with other people that "she (or he) is Mine!" but at the same time you feel ignored and your feelings aren't returned and you start to feel like an accessory which has its time when to use, only small maintenance required to keep this "trophy" around (usually sex for a trophy guy, gifts and promises usually the trophy is a girl) , but otherwise disposable if he or she starts to become a problem or starts to realize how been only used. If you have never been one, have you seen it and recognized those "couples" ? |

Yup, I've been put into that situation before. Didn't like it, didn't last long at all. I am proud to be seen with the one I'm with, but that certainly isn't my reason for being with them, and shouldn't be ANYONE's reason for being with someone.

yup, I'm getting real tired of just being arm candy... I'm being sarcastic Chris There is a difference between being proud of someone, and ONLY being with them to show them off. |

Doesn't happen anymore, though -- I guess authors don't make good trophies....? |

Humm nope on my part. But have seen plenty that are used that way but then they don't mind for they are benefiting from it as well. To each their own what ever works for them it's all good.

yup, I'm getting real tired of just being arm candy... I'm being sarcastic Chris There is a difference between being proud of someone, and ONLY being with them to show them off. Bingo, especially if you love him (or her) and you are only used at certain times, but otherwise you get a cold shoulder about everything else and pushed aside and feel ignored. Anyone who thinks it's great to be a trophy, it's as good as being a doormat. Being proud of someone and loving him (or her) is an entirely different thing. |

Even when I have dated semi famous folks I never bragged on them or showed them off. I never treat anyone as an object.
People are people to me regardless to their financial status or fame. And any man who appeared to be doing it with me, had to go. |
