instead of running on the road? Anyone done it?

People do it here all the time and what makes me laugh is when they do it on the horse trails up the hill here and they act like they have right of way to the horse riders.

Geez. And unfortunately, the horse riders will have to let them have the right of way, due to a potential risk of lawsuits.

Its better on the knees. And you have better scenery.

That's what I figured too. The ankles may be a bit more iffy, but if it helps my kness, that would be great.

Get the right kind of shoes and your ankles should be fine.

I ran cross country in high school, so yes I have ran on a trail. Running on a trail is fun! You get to jump logs, hop over or run through creeks, run up hills, run over bridges, make your way through some tight spots and turns, see squirrels run away from you, etc... Ok it is more varied and softer on your knees then running on pavement or the treadmill.
