Topic: An argument... | |
---|---|
with my brother this morning, though I guess it would really be considered more like a friendly debate.
My side: I'm fine, the world is screwed up. His side: The world is fine, I'm FUBAR. My argument, in two words and an ampersand: Toddlers & Tiaras. I rest my case. I was explaining to my bro that during my bout of insomnia last night I stumbled upon this show at 2 a.m. Having never seen it, and not believing what I was actually seeing, I watched the entire show! All I can say is that I'm completely convinced that I win this argument hands down! It's no wonder I never leave the house and despise 'reality' TV. |

I can't believe the parents, the producers of the show, or that there is actually an audience that watches it! What the hell has our world come to?! It has to be one of the dumbest shows I've ever seen, and there are some really, REALLY dumb shows out there. But this had to take the cake. Or get the crown, or whatever. |

That show is an outrage IMO not only for the children going through it but can someone please explain WTF that show is on at 2am? What? to entertain the bloody pedophiles out there? Fatcha disgratz! |

I've only seen the adds for that show but you have my vote, it's totally messed up. Don't want to know parents that would do that to their kids and don't want to know people who watch the show. Would also like to give the producers a slap.

It has to be one of the dumbest shows I've ever seen, and there are some really, REALLY dumb shows out there. But this had to take the cake. Or get the crown, or whatever. My ex-sister-in-law entered her daughter in one when she was about 5. OMG! The dressing rooms were full of little princesses crying because the hot rollers were burning their heads...or because they got poked in the eye by someone trying to put masacara and eye liner on a 4 year old...or the fake hair was hurting their head....the dresses were too tight and itchy....the list goes on and on. It was like being at the scene of a terrible accident! And was even worse after the pageant and they were all crying because they didn't win and they must be ugly and no one likes them and etc.... I dunno, to me it's nothing but people trying to relive their youth through their children. |

If I had even one ounce of faith in humanity, I think I lost it after last night. I think the last time I was so preturbed by something so ridiculous was when I saw a jail warden on a 60 Minutes interview saying they weren't there to "punish" anyone!
I have really been making an effort to change my pessimistic attitude about the state of our society but I just got knocked back about two and half feet on that blow. Now I know why I either listen to tunes or watch sports! |

I am not a fan of this show AT ALL! I would never , ever put a child through something like that. There is more to life than being pretty and winning awards....they get wy too carried away and at times, it seems abusive.....jmo

I actually feel sick to my stomach when I watch shows like that.
I just do not understand it at all. |

I dunno, to me it's nothing but people trying to relive their youth through their children. I was going to be mean and say the kids wouldn't have been crying and getting poked in the eye if they had sat still, but I was afraid someone would take me serious and come hunt me down. I have a four year old daughter and she likes to dress up like a princess but only for fun. I would never parade her around like some freaks do with their children. I "let" her wear finger nail polish (sometimes) if she wants to and I will help her make her hair "fancy" (overnight rollers ftw!), but I would never force it. |

"Or it could mean you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. And I'd like that." I'm guessing I am the only one who really gets this...and actually likes it. |
